I am looking at getting my little fella onto a bike towards the end of this year. I am seriously considering an Oset. The attached clip is the 20″ model but they do a 16″ too. If I get this instead of a 50cc fossil burner I can take him on the local mtb loops without causing any trouble. Has anyone out there got one of these and if so what are your thoughts. For $1500 they look like a good thing plus I have a younger boy that I can hand it down too.

Do it Scott, I don’t know much about the bikes themselves, but you can’t beat trials riding for gaining the basic skills of riding a bike.

    Hi Mike,
If you are still in the UK you might be able to check one out. Not sure where they would sell them but they are a UK company.

I started my son on a similar bike when he was 3 and it was great to get his riding skills started. It is a Mecatecno brand and was an excellent bike. Bought it from the Hell Team in Sydney who are the importers as well.

The new Oset bikes look very similar to the Mecatecno ones as is the price so it comes down to local support. The Hell Team are trial bike importers and have been excellent for everything I have needed.

What a great way to get kids into the sport. No worries about pissing off the neighbours and a awsome way to build the dirtbike sport in general .
Wouldnt it be awsome on the weekend, instead of taking the youngens down to the footy fields or netball courts they would be able to go to a oval or area made for trials bike riding with all the obstacles etc set up ready to tackle for the different skill sets.

I see the Mecatecno also make a model for GASGAS 👿 cmon Scotty you know you want a Gasgas.

I really like the look of these too as really young kids are often put off with the noise of a bike which can be scary and may be distracting them from gaining their skills.

I checked with my mum in the uk and she would pay about 1200 pounds ($2000) over their so we are getting a great deal here for $1600 ;)

Yes still in the uk but back to Oz this thursday :)
Saw the Oset bikes in a local bike shop the other day and from what I gather from speaking to some mates they seem to have a good name ;) and Nicks right in his post regarding price at around 1200 pound, so price looks good in Oz.

Just thought I’d bump this thread.

Did any of you guys end up getting the Oset bike? If so how did it go? I’m tossing up between the Oset and the Mecantecno at the moment.

How long does the charge last?

    Hey OG
I have had a good look at both and the Oset is a better bike. They both use a lot of mtb components and the build on the Oset is much better. My little fella will get a 16″ Oset for his 5th birthday in December. I will do an in depth report once we have it.
