Well what top conditions for a ride ;)

Started off with 11 riders ( Murph, Tim, CJ, Mick, Justo, Moto, Darran, Krusty, Cindytalk, Action and me)and the first hill caught out those that were not paying attention  Cindytalk got himself tangled in the ruts and Krusty had himself in the wrong gear

Once up the first hill it was into the singles and everyone soon realized they needed their pro game on as they were slick as :woohoo:

We did a bit of dust free main track then a flowing single before the second lot of singles :)

Coming out of those singles is a longish steep hill and this had Cindytalks measure, and as he lives close by decided to call it quits :(

Then we headed out towards the main singles to the quarry via a little single that proved a bit slippery for me and I was all over the place like a dogs dinner  a bit of pushing and I was back on track with everyone else getting up except for Justo

We had some fun on the main singles with Darrans detour proving difficult in the conditions

The next challenge was marble hill and being damp made it easier than usual except for Krusty  He and the bike parted ways  but soon got back together and with a bit of a push Krusty was on his way into the quarry :)

We had a bit of a break in the quarry then did over log both ways which proved slippery in places, we said goodbye to Justo who had to fast track it back home and we headed back towards home via the northern singles. Everyone seemed to get a good rhythm going on the way home and we kept a good pace going even with my wrong turn

Thanks to everyone who came, you made it a most enjoyable day.

Will post up some vids when they load. I’ve got 3GB of the inside of my pocked to sort through as I must have missed the off button :pinch:

Sounds like a fun but a bit tough day out.

It was a great day out, nice to have a ride without the dust. All the attendees punted along a decent pace and there were only minimal difficulties in a couple of spots.

The middle singles were the highlight for me as usual and it was food ride with some new faces. Keystone was markedly improved on return trip home, he didn’t look the same rider, I was sweeping and watching him style it up over the erosion mounds and undulations.

Murph and Timbo did it easy all day, nothing taxing for the ‘extreme team’ though I did see Time have a go at a rock ledge early in the piece and fail. In fairness no one else rode up it.

All in all it was a fun day, so much so I didn’t bail early and rode till the end. Regrettably I did have to run at the end so missed the bench racing in the car park :D

Funny highlight was passing Krusty on a single downhill section and worrying about cutting him up. In my efforts to look behind to check he hadn’t crashed as a result I cross rutted and crashed myself hahahaha!!!! Serves me right I suppose! He did throw sand in my eye earlier in the day though so we’ll call it square :D

Hi everyone, many many thanks for allowing me to tag along today.
So that’s what grade 3ish :woohoo: means! Hopefully I didn’t slow you down too much.

Some great organisation and understanding plus sound advice too today.

Currently have ice on my right calf (swollen to elephant proportions) having got it stuck between a rock and hard place… I know I should have the beer on ice but Im a Pom 👿

I think fear and skill (lack off ) got the better of me! Hopefully the memory card was full when I came off on the hill lol.

    Thanks again fellas

    Andrew (Cindytalk).

Sifted through the footage and here it is :P

Trouble with a good pace is there’s no time for stopping and videoing. I guess it’s time for a Gopro or something similar B)

That hill was much steeper, I swear…

Thanks to Adam for organising the ride.. Murph, Justo, Action and Moto for sweeping various parts of the day… It was nice to meet up and ride with some old faces as well as the new..

To my surprise Adams backyard is only 1 hour drive away making it the closes riding spot for me… I’ll need to enjoy his backyard a little more I think as it makes for a great day ride..

I had a shite morning and could not find any mojo whatsoever… Not more than 5 minutes in we blast around a corner and right up a rutted rocky up hill… I was in third gear and I hesitated down shifting loosing all momentum and laid the bike down… Not a great start I thought and the next 2 hours I battled frustration making all sorts of rookie mistakes… Hesitating, using too much front brake, thinking too much, etc…

The first single was a nice slow tight one but greasy as… When we all came to the end everyones tires were just caked with mud… A quick blast down a transport section flopped most of the mud out and then we jumped back in the singles… Tight tight tight was the story of the day.. I think I smashed trees with the barky’s 20 or more times throughout the day… Adam mentioned at Nundle his backyard was tighter than the pines.. I didn’t think it could get any tighter but man he was spot on.. It appears a lot of the Ourimbah singles have been heavily ridden and most were just one long rut and some multi rutted… A lot of up and down hill singles, off camber, rocks, boulders and some root steps… Plenty to keep one on their toes… By the time we hit the final steep hill climb before the quarry I was fully frustrated and the anger was getting the best of me… A short cool down and forcing myself to get over it brought us to a nice 20 minute fast flowing loop that I felt was the best section of the day(as well as the return)… Coming off that I felt good and the ride back to the cars over the next few hours was a cracker…

It was nice to ride with Murphs crew.. I really enjoyed watching Murph on some of the hill climbs… Smooth as and really impressive throttle control!! :) In the afternoon I got a chance to ride along side, in front of or behind Moto which I enjoyed as I been enjoying watching faster riders to see how they handle things, pick lines and just go for it.. Towards the end we went through a section that had large puddles every 500 meters or so.. With Moto right on my back side I thought for sure he was going to fill me in as I slowed up at each one before heading through.. However he was good bloke and didn’t attempt to get even after throwing sand in his eyes while he was helping me through a section.. Sorry mate… :(

All in all it was great ride and great crew… I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad Old Bulls ride as the spirit is always the same no matter which crew is formed.. I suppose this for me is the reason the Old Bulls is the best site and group of riders out there…

Thanks again Adam and I’ll be looking for more rides in your backyard post Coffs……. BTW I feel great today and only slight shoulder muscles aches…

    Cheers….

    Krusty it happens :P

I have days where you know the track and have ridden it dozens of times and still muck up corners or stuff up your timing etc. The worst one that comes to memory for me was Bello Ev’s Lowanna ride. I couldn’t do a thing right :pinch:  yet other days you can’t do wrong.

Mojo is a funny thing

Good to have you along ;) and you certainly got your Mojo back in the arvo :cheer:

    No worries Al ;)

You’ll enjoy yourself on the 250 B) The Ourimbah singles were built for them :woohoo:

And it’s bloody hard work peddling a DRZ400 through them :pinch:

I doubt that you’ll miss yours

Thanks to all for a fun day out
Conditions could not of been better. :woohoo:
I was a bit worried that it was going to be open stuff for most of the day but that proved wrong with us spending most of the day in sweet singles. B)
The group was split up at times and I thought we might of lost each other but the boys knew the place well enough and we always regrouped. B)
Good to ride with a couple of new faces as was with a few older ones. ;)
Hope to have some pics on the camera but haven’t checked it yet.
    Cheers
