This must be a Friday bike. I expected mine to look like that but was surprised and impressed at how well mine were packed. As Rocket had pointed out this was not the case with my old XR250. The steering bearing and swingarm linkages were dry as a nun’s, well you get the idea.

Looks like another DRZ desert sled is born.

Well Gaz and Krusty called in this morning with Gaz’s new Wolfman racks and bags. Gaz picked the bags and frames after I tipped him to them on ADV’s flea market. The racks were for a DR400 SM and Gaz has a DRZ400. So they front up with a 6 pack of Bundies (10.15am  ) OK well the righthand rack went on easy, I had to trim the end of a bracket here and there to make it fit smick but smick it was.

The left side needed some shed time and a bracket made, spacers cut and sourced but armed with a bundy we rallied and were equal to the task

So the frames were fitted and then we had to fit the bags for the first time, setup is required once but it’s happy days from there on. The IPad was dragged out and the guys studied the figment video (I had seen it before as Nickj and I have been looking at this setup for a while now)

Gaz with his lookers on and Krusty watching the video

Here is the video they were studing

Bags he all fitted up, nice setup

    Gaz all set to go

Gaz on the left and Krusty on the right

    IMGP0401.jpg

I noticed as the guys were leaving that Gaz’s setup leaves a lot more room on the bike and isn’t has top heavy as Krusty’s

    Gaz’s

The setup is neat and if you watch the video on the bags you will see that they are easy to take on and off when setup. The video explains all about the wolfman bag setup.

If you are interested in any of the products seen he give Steve at Adventure Moto a ring as he stocks them and will look after you ;)

Many Thanks to TB for getting the bike to where it is now. Only thing left to do now is have the steering dampner fitted and she’s good to go. 3 States, here I come.

    Bol,

The stubby holder is a work in progress and the result will not disapoint you.

They seem to be a very versatile bike. Although, after reading several years of ride reports, their electrics seem to be their achilles heel.

    Yeah mate yeah!!

If you can’t afford 2 bikes, 2 regos and 2 green slips and all the toys to go with both then the DRZ is the pick for both modes of riding.. My utimate would be one for each mode but minister of finacne won’t allow it.. YET ;)

I recommended a DR to a friend today, they were going to get a **450, he’s a newb coming off a ttr250 I reckon the DR would be a perfect bike for him.

Well Gaz your banana looks a real treat and great to see so beautifully color co ordinated and Im sure that it will get very dirty on your next Old Bulls outing.
I cant wait to see the larg holder too. I understand that Didgeridoonas are currently working on the final prototype!!

The only real problem I can see is that the bike is not RED with a chicken wing!! :-)!!

TB your work as usual is flawless but I think you should be charging more to work on non Hondas!!
