Finally dragged my sorry arse out of bed at 8.00 which is a bit late to go for a ride but age does show. Rushed around and loaded the bike and gear and headed down to Paddy’s. Got hafway there and went to ring JAK but realised I left the phone in the garage. Hope I don’t have any injuries.
Got to Paddy’s and found a place to unload and get ready. Just about to haed of when I was stopped by two DSE guys, they asked me what I was doing so I told them I was going for a ride on my bike( it must have been pretty obvious). they give me the talking to about rules ect and some literature and had a little laugh. They were having a chuckle about my balding head and grey hair as they said they could not believe how many older riders they are coming across instead of young hoons.
Anyway headed of down the first track i saw & found it to have a long section of woops which
then flattened out for the runup to the first hill. got up ok and then realised that I shouldnot take to many risks as I am on my own and no phone. Come back down and deciced to stay on the flat stuff.Found a few more tracks to ride which were all sand loam with berms on some bends and tight twisty stuff on others. Come across the area that is being developed into a bike unload area with BBQ showers etc so this shoud be great when finished although ot will make the area pretty popular.
Had covered around 15k’s so decided to haed back to the car. Thank god for the Garmin Extrex as all the tracks and turns look the same and I would have been stuffed without it. Did get lost once as I didn’t check a turn and thought it looked familiar.
It started to piss down rain so the car was a good sight.
Looking forward to the ride on the 8/8

the yellow brings a bit of colour to the shots just like a little ray of sunshine (although that usually shines out of my arse)

    Good work Smurf.

You should have dropped in. I was home all arvo trying to entertain me two year old.

hoping to go back to the old stamping ground at Anglsea tomorow. I’LL give you a ring on the way home if the bride will let me have 2 days on the bike. I need to do a few more K’s than I did today to settle the system down. If I go I’ll post a report with some photos of the tracks closer to the beach
