Ok the rear pads are in and awaiting the fronts to turn up, whilst Im waiting I have decided to undertake another major modificatation to the 400. I am thinking of purchasing one of them fuel breather thingies with the flash steel bit on the top,,you know the hose that goes into the petrol cap????

Can someone give me a hand as to how I remove the old one and install the flash new one. B)

    Cheers

Boony,Assumming you mean the rubber tube on the tank cap. I just twisted mine and it came off easily. Bought a little black pecker, probably about 2inches long with a black metal knob on it and reversed the procedure.

    Quite simple really.

Make sure you glue the new one on Boony, the first one I bought came off during the first ride never to be seen again. It was the biggest weekend ride but it only made it as far as the Sydney offroad racing club track, at least that’s where I noticed it was gone. Araldite has had mine in place for over 12 months now.

,,,,oh, and you will need a large hammer and a very sharp chisel to get the old one off :)

Fill the tank with hi octane fuel, splash some one yourself and cut the cap of the tank with the oxy acetylene Boony. This will serve two purposes, it will get the cap off and give you time to think about your next quailty maintenance question

(Everybody else please ignore this tongue in cheek response)

Actually Tb I was sitting here wondering why he was asking as well, without being too nasty it’s justa push on, pull off fitting isn’t it? if it is I’ll send my son over to show you Boony, he replaced the one on his Kx60 and laced it down the steering head with a longer one, from a piece of 1/4′ fuel line he cut off the roll cause the ones that sit up a few inches above the cap with an alloy fitting on top (like he had) are eye gougers.

righto the pads are soughted, I am keeping the standard hosey thingy on the filler cap (to ruddy hard to change that one),,now, does anyone have the tourque wrench setting I should use for the chrome nut thingo that goes over where I pour air into the tyre??and while where at it, the front one has what looks like a valve remover on it,,how the hell does that work.
