Yeah I know Mick it’s also pretty hard to type when you’re Rolling on the floor laughing your guts out at the “it happens on other bikes too” comments, almost as predictable as I

Course it does, just not as often, KTM300 over the bars at least a dozen times in 18 months, every second ride, Yamaha 250 once in same time…..Oh and that was because i hit a goodamn tree head on.

Hey Mick when was the last time the big Fiddy did that to you?

Although the little bikes are worse for it, I saw my young fella kicked up every ride or second lap he was on on his SX50s, I think the shocks on those are more rudimentary than the full-sized PDS.

Yeh I’m miles behind both on post time and knowledge but what is PDS? I actually looked on this forum for ktm85 stuff so here is my question. My 13yo rides an 06 ktm85 and he has almost got the hang of it so I was considering the conversion to big wheel. Is it a straight wheel swap or is there more involved?
    Thanks
    Andrew
I was going to post a picture of said bike but I dont know how to reduce the size of my images. But that is probably a topic for another post.
    Thanks again

PDS is where the shock is connected directly to the Swingarm, No Linkages
When the rear wheel hits & rebounds, the action can be somewhat aggressive & well ask Menace what it can do to ya especially ya TOXIC BONE

Its a KTM thing mate
Although BMW & some other Euro brands also use it sometimes I think :P

I cant remember the exact phrase for what the P D & S stand for, but I hope this clears things up a bit for ya ;)

Clearly a good case for putting the bike back in the shed for another six months. Talk about getting put back on the horse that kicked you off. Even Mum or Sis didnt think about that small drop off/jump . :(

That is sad to watch :( . Maybe they should have taught the kid to ride before they let him jump.
