To stretch the logic a bit young Ecks, a pie-shop is that which sells pies? Yes ergo Woolworths, Bi-Lo and Aldi are pies shops.

Don’t mention Aldi you’ll have Ollie blabbering on about them before long!

I went to Red Neds at the Bay several times when my parents were over and had 2 pies every time I went. One a staple pie that I knew would be good and another that didn’t matter if I didn’t like it. I didn’t come across a bad one. The Kangaroo was quite good too.

Does that make Aldi a motorcycle accessories shop as well Bruce? They sell a lot of bike bits like GPS units, tank bags etc… :P

Yes by default, but not a specialist supplier, much like you can buy electrical fittings at bunnings.

One pie that was great in their hey day were the Timbertown pies made in the wood fired ovens at Timbertown Wauchope. The name has since been bought and they are no longer made at Timbertown(now baked in Port Macquarie)and don’t quite live up to the past pies but aren’t to bad none the less.

I have a new favourite pie in Orange. Whitey’s pies in Sale Street are tops! Good value too. Nice firm pies that don’t fall apart and drip thermonuclear hot filling down your forearm! Very tasty and well worth a visit – I think this might be the start of a beautiful relationship! :)
