    my xr600 recently was dismantled due to lack of compretion. i was going to do a set of rings or piston as required. when i took the valves out for new seals i found the exhuast valves were badly pitted.i have no idea why exhuast valves pitted like this but not the inlet. i have not had motor long and never had it apart until now. any sugestions?

    Running too rich. the carbon deposits get between the valve and the seat, makes the valve overheat. common XR600 problem.
