tried out my new pivot pegs on the hillend ride

to tell the truth i didn’t really notice them.
this a good thing as my feet were comfy, no tiredness (my hands were sore early on: so I relaxed my hands and held on tighter with my knees (as one is supposed to do)) I could operate the controls better and I did not worry about slipping off

    sweet

interesting observation though: the pegs felt I little like, but a lot better than, the old school skinny pegs from the 70’s. just with the grip and comfort of modern pegs

My pivot pegz are coming up on 12 months old now and it started me thinking, no broken springs and no problems at all. I reckon my pegz have done a tonne of work and I cant imagine riding my bike without them now.

I need to take mine apart and re grease the pivots as you are supposed to do and I havent :(

I would like to take this opportunity to thanks Allan from Pivot pegz for such a great product and for his on going support of Old Bull Trailriders, Allan with Battyes have twice now combined to setup the bulk buy deals that have allowed Old Bulls to buy peg sets for $180 delivered, thats $40 cheaper than normal, Allan also donates a couple of sets of pegz a year for us to give away Pivot Pegz have been a sponsor of OBT since the very early days and we look forward to continuing with this great Aussie company for years to come

If you haven’t tried Pivot Pegz get on a bike with them, they are the bomb, if we get enough interested people we will again run a bulk buy

I’m in the same camp as T/B on these, I get on bikes without p/Pegz and think “what is the problem with this thing”, IF i ever get another bike this will be second on the list after suspension mods, in fact IF I ever got aqnother off-road bike it now has to be a Yamaha just so my pegs can fit onto it….:P .

BTW T/B I just spray lithium grease into mine froma pressure pack, they still pivot flawlessly, even after becoming completely obliterated in clay on the weekend.

And Shiny shiny pretty looking too.

I am stoked with the two sets I have bought too. The first thing I noticed when I test rode the BMW450X is that the pegs felt weird because I was so used to the pivot pegz.
I lent my spare set to Moose the other day and I am betting he is now in the market for a set as he was very impressed with them on his first ride with them on.
I concure with TB,that you should at least get on a bike with a set fitted and feel the difference.

I had my first ride with my pivot pegz on sunday and I loved them! I’d really like to ride some more familiar stuff to gauge the difference but to me it just felt really smooth and planted especially when bouncing up rocky hill climbs. As the bike rocks back and forth it just rotates under your foot rather than bucking your heel/toes back and forth.

I didn’t get to blast any whoops but I it’d be the same thing I think.

    They look shit hot too!

I have had the Pivot Pegz fitted to both My old 04 WR450 and transferred them over to the GasGas 300 with only a small mod needed for them to fit (there you go bruce you can get yourself a GasGas!!;) ) I have found that they give me more grip as I have limited grip with my dodgy hand and find these really help. The only problem that I have really encountered is that sometimes when you want to put your foot down for a “safety Dab” The pegs dont want to let go:laugh:

Maintenance wise I cant fault them I give them a quick spray of WD or Lanolin and they are good to go. I plan on keeping them for my next bike as well, thanks to the guys at Pivot Pegs, good effortB)

I fitted mine a couple of weeks ago but so far have on riden on the road with them. First thing i noticed was that i could drop my gear lever down another notch as i could get my boot under it. couldnt do this with standard pegs. Also they are a lot longer and wider than the standard pegs.

I’ll post my thoughts after using them properly this weekend.

After having a quick blat on Champo’s bike on the Caves to Caves ride, I knew I had to have a set of Pivot Pegs.
When I bought the 450, a set of Pivot Pegs had already been fitted (lucky me) but I had already put my name down for a set with the OBT bulk buy for the 250, so after riding the 450 with them on I definitely wanted to fit a set to the 250 for Kylie.
I find the Pivot Pegs give you more feel and control of your bike as your feet are always sitting flat on the pegs. I have never had my feet slip off the pegs since using the Pivots.
Compared to the stock pegs that came with the 450 the Pivots are a little bit narrower, which in my opinion is better, as the stock ones felt a little bit to wide.
There is no comparison between the Pivots and the tin foil thin crappy things that Yamaha fitted to the WR250R. I bent both of the standard pegs on the 250 but you would be really going to damage a set of Pivots.
So if you after a really good set of pegs, that will give you more control and feel go for a set of Pivot Pegs – you will not be disappointed. (and they look super cool, even on Kato’s:P )

I have had my pivot pegs fitted for the last two rides and one of those was a big two day.
At first by this i mean the first 10 minutes they felt strange but the more i ride with them the more i like them. I have found that they make me stand up more than i did before and changing gear standing up is now done with more ease. I think even after such a short time riding with them i would miss them if i went back to the old standard pegs. I would recommend that if you havent tried them to give them a go they are a good thing.

Pivot Pegs are the best invention since disc brakes.
$180 is cheap. Mad to pass that up.
They are that good even Ecks used to have a set!

I didn’t think that I would get any benefit from the pivot pegs because I am not a hardcore gun rider. The first time I rode with them I made it hard to notice the difference because I also had new boots on. I agree with a couple of others that made mention of this on the site that at first they felt…..different.

That was on the way to Putty Roadhouse. On the way back I found that I was used to them and then all of a sudden I started having a great time on the bike. I wouldn’t go back to standard pegs now. I like how when you are going up a hill and you are standing up, that they help you into the right position for going up the hill i.e. slightly leaning forward comfortably.

As I said before I am not hardcore but you don’t need to be to get the benefits from these pegs.

Well I have fitted my Pivot Pegz and have had a couple of rides out with them. I must say they look the just great and I was raring to see how good they were as the last time I rode a bike with them fitted I did’nt even know that they were on the bike until they were pointed out to me. Anyways first off I did not like them at all, my boots kept slipping off them, I could’nt understand why coz they’re as sharp as.( this never happened with the originals) I have to say in fairness that I had also just fitted a new steering damper and that was taking up a fair bit of my attention as I was tuning it in. However both days riding which was down at Batemans Bay and up at Nowra, my boots were still slipping off..Went for a ride last Monday down to Belangelo Forest and only had the boot slip off once or twice and find that I have to lift my right foot off or up to hit the rear brake. But yes kinda starting to like them now,and I’m sure I will get used to them. They do look good thats for sure.
What I was’nt impressed about was to find out that after every 100 hours of use the mount assembly has to be replaced. Now I dont know what this is going to cost me but if want to keep the pegz on I will have to wear this cost ( I’ve already done about 30 hours now). Have any of you guys fitted new replacement mounts and have any idea as to how much?.. Black zippo
