Mine have done well over 100hrs and I have and will not be replacing them, didnt know that or have ever heard that
Zippo if you are having to lift your foot of the work the brake, your brake pedal is too high mate, lower that and life will be grand
Is that why your foot is slipping of I wonder, like Ollie said problem is normally sometimes your feet stick to them

August 6, 2009 at 2:34 am #147155I,m riding next week and will maybe make adjustments to the brake then. As to the replacement advice I read that in the supplied brochure. I will most probably be the same as you and not replace them till they’re really loose. Never had a boot slipping off so much before, maybe its my new diet and I getting to light haha
August 6, 2009 at 3:14 am #147156Only issue I have is my kick start is already chopped up from them! Any tips to save my kicker from getting worn through other than fix the magic button which I’m also doing?
August 6, 2009 at 3:17 am #147160Hey Zippo, your feet are slipping off all the time??? Did you take them out of the box before you fitted them?? LOL
My foot hasn’t slipped off since I fitted mine.

Generally speaking (for tall guys primarily), standing should require no effort to apply the foot brake. Sitting down will likely require the boot to move forward to apply the foot brake. Unless your boot is super flexible.
The Katos and TMs should have height and play/reach adjustment.August 6, 2009 at 5:03 am #147167Manufacturers recommendations are basically to keep the legaleagles at bay if something goes wrong most of the time, it’s like replacing the bottom end on your bike every 100 hours like some handbooks say
.
as far as feet slipping off, I did have that once on the weekend too, but it had more to do with the fact there was 2″ of clay on the footpeg from the ruts I was riding and 3′ on my boots, I felt 6′ tall etting off the bike….Oh that’s cause i was:blush:

I use them on the 530 pivots and steg pegz great combination
Try dirtbikedeals or adv moto for either Stegz or pivots

November 17, 2012 at 6:45 pm #232557Hi People,
Excuse if butting in but I have Pivot and Stegz on a new KTM350 and have some observations
1: when Pivot first fitted my wrists got tired quicker as they seem to put more emphasis on arms. Sort of makes sense as your body can now move around more on the bike. But you quickly learn to grip with your legs and this helps alleviate tired arms/wrists.
2: Awesome for steep hills: up and down as you can now adjust your body weight while still maintaining full foot contact on the peg (not only on the edge).
3: may need to adjust your brake/changer. When going down steep hills and hanging off the back because your foot is rotated back more. I found I had to lift rear brake one notch. However some have said opposite. Just be aware you may need to change.
4: Biggest change was to gear shifter! I have a big foot (13!!) so most shifters are not ideal anyway but on my KTM I had to raise shifter and shorten it lengthwise and widthwise ( I have a AC TIG so its a pretty easy mod).
5: But add a set of Stegz (both of these are Aussie prods!!!) and the bike becomes even better (if thats possible). The addition of these two and changes to the controls makes the bike an absolute dream to ride. And for a 55 year old to be able to ride for hours and still feel OK is gob smacking. So my 2c is that if you decide to fit Pivot then fit the Stegz as well, its about $400 worth but they go so well together its money well spent.
Anyway that’s my 2c worth.
PS would love to go on the Coffs coast trail ride, is there a separate item for that (as opposed to the adventure ride part)?????

November 20, 2012 at 3:27 am #232572Thanks for the welcome Nickj, just trying to convince “she who must be obeyed” that I need to have a weekend break in Coffs
Can you tell me if the trail suitable is for girls; she can ride but gets a bit freaked at big steep rutted hills?
