Does any one remember doing the old poker runs and why don’t we see them around any more?

Yeah the one at Louee was a great event. Like Eagle said it wasn’t supposed to be a race but quickly turned into one.

If someone helps me I will organise an Old Bull poker run day either on the central coast, sunny corner or zig zag. Could be a full day with a couple of loops

You have a loop Jeffro and after every loop you cut a deck of cards till you have enough to make a hand of poker and best hand wins

OK then Mal in the next 3 or 4 months, cheers for that we will need to have a counter lunch to discuss the details (more then one will be required  )

The 1st annual OBT poker run day, stay tuned for a date.

It will be on a sunday, early start early finish for the travelers, maybe an overnight camp the night before

And we didn’t go to the hard stuff Mick. We were one ridge away from what I believe is the hardest hills in sunny corner.

TB – I already have some ideas. I’ll get my people to talk to your people and set up a meeting. ;)

I can help you out also TB and Mal. Hopefully the loggers will be finished before this and we could use Mal or one of my places to camp/start from

Done a couple in my time, the most memorable was run by the Tweed valley motorsports club (rally blokes) it WASN’T a race… yeah right I was navigator in a full-house CDT gemini with 2 litre rodeo block, twin cam head, twin 44 solex-mikunis, and 4.4 locker diff on konis. there where Gt falcons, Xu-1s, Slr-5000s, a HDT commodore, Mazda R-100s and RX-2s all rally type cars, held on dirt roads threoughout Tweed and Murwillumbah areas, it was ABSOLUTE carnage, authorities banned them from holding anymore after that.

Funny thing is the bloke I was navigating for is now a high ranking Highway Patrol Officer with a rep for booking his own Mum before she passed on(god rest her soul)…….

The local Motorcycle club also run a Vinduro that is somewhat similar to a poker run every year, only race I’ve ever been to where competitors come in and watch the others go round for a while then casually hop back on do a few laps and have another rest… gotta love that style of racing.
