There were eight of us for the meeting point for 7am at the Bellbird Hotel with Adam, Pikey, Looselink, son of Looselink, Jeffro and Dude, Murf the surf arriving shortly after

We trailered to the bush, kitted up and were on the trails by 8am

Most of the single trails haven’t been well used lately and the rocky sections made it interesting

Looselink was taken out by a vine in a nasty way by all reports and I tested the collar bone in a slow front end washout on a dusty downhill

The group stuck together well and after a couple of hours of ST there were a bunch of sweaty blokes having a bit of smoko

Although it wasn’t that hot, the temperature was rising, so we hit some fire trail to get the air flow through the armor and check out the views

There was a bit of exploring disused tails which I left for another day instead of dragging seven blokes through scrub

A bit more fire tail and ST and we were back at the cars at 11am. Murf, Dude, Looselink and his son continued on doing ‘the long trail’ loop. We said goodbye to Jeffro and Adam, Pikey and myself headed for the Australian Hotel for a beer or two and lunch. Biggest pork schnitzel I have seen and the hamburgers were massive too. I couldn’t eat it all

There were a couple of cameras and video takers so hopefully we’ll get some more images

Thanks fellas, great quick morning blat and good to finish off with a beer and feed in air conditioned comfort

Thanks Lotsa for organizing the ride ;)

I hadn’t been to Pokolbin before and I started to worry

We started with a romantic drive through the wine country then headed along a dirt road called Broken Back road  and my concern was Lotsa was taking us to Broke Back Mountain  :P

It turned out to be a top ride with some really fun singles :woohoo: with the odd up hill to keep you on your toes (literally)

It was starting to warm up so I thought I’d stick with Lotsa and Pikey and head to the pub B)

By the time we got to Cessnock it was really warming up and thought what perfect timing for a cool beer :) We had a top lunch and a chat about some funny moments on the ride, a good way to end up a year of some really good rides :woohoo:

Thanks to Dude for sweeping ;) hope the groin is OK (nothing to do with Broke Back Mountain   )

Happy New Year to all :cheer: See you on the trails :woohoo:

Got some vids to sort through for later

Great way to end another year of trail riding. :cheer:

Nice early start……….. tho did run 10 mins late due to a miscalculation on time to get to meeting point on my behalf.

    Lotsa singles,
did have a couple of offs 1 riding down a deep rutted twin trail and didn’t want to go the ruts cause they were so deep so hey ride the center crest and all was going good ( high and mighty ) till the crest was ending and was just riding it to the end but it got too sharp and surprise surprise cross rutted and

the other time just on a dirt road sliding to take corner and it was slipperya than anticipated slide out stretching a hammy ( not good for kids at our age).

We got back to the cars and I wanted to do a track I did last time I was here, so we said catch yas later and went for a 1/2 hour loop…….. oh how about 2hours and 30 kms just exploring singles
and( oh dear this sounds suss but in theme with the thread) seeking out oh dear………’

bum crack track’.     :S  :P

Didn’t find it (another suss sentence) but will have to do more exploring when the weather cools down…

Had fun thanks for leading us around Lotsa. :cheer: :)

    Happy new year :P

    Great ride fella’s
Thanks to Lotsa for sharing another choice spot. :woohoo:
Some great singles with a tricky little hill thrown in now and again. 👿
All has been said, I think.

After arriving back at the cars, was thought that we should do a little more.
So four of of us headed out for more. 👿 :woohoo:

Dude led us (which is always a worry) :woohoo:
He did well though and he found the down hill he was yapping about.
While the boys waited/rested at the bottom, I couldn’t help myself, so back up I went.
Cool hill. Got caught once but didn’t have to get off, the 5 hungey powered to the top, with me flailing behind and hanging on for grim death. 👿 👿

    Some nice trails followed.

Then into exploration world. B)

Sometimes this can pay greatly, but not this day. :(

Did the same singles back, but in reverse. B)

    Thankyou everybody
    Cheers
    Murph

P.S. I only have one pic
Shall see if it worth uploading tomorrow

Apollogies for the later than anticipated starting time.
I was sitting on my gear box waiting for “guess who”?
    Thanks heaps for waiting
Thanks heaps for showing up, Dude. :)
All was sweet in the end
    Great way to end 2012
    Cheers
    Murph
    P.S.
    I have to admitt
I did have one off, on a little step up jump, in the second half of the day
Dude, was watching, damn. :pinch:
Glad he didn’t catch it on camera, oops, I should not of confessed.
It never happened. :woohoo:

Thanks Lotsa for organising and everyone else for the day. Pleanty pf singles for the first hour and a half or more then a bit of open stuff and exploring. I struggled a bit on a couple of hills but not so much that I needed help to get up.

Only the 1 action picture from me for the day, I forgot the Gopro and was too busy just keeping up to take pictures. It was my final ride on the old WR, next time out the new one should be ready.
