My neighbour is Chelsea Hedges mum and if you are a surfer you will know who that is. Chelsea was the next Australian world champion afetr Layne Baechley. That was before she was married so it’s listed as Chelsea Gorgeson. She took a year off the world tour to have a baby and is back on it this year. Her daughter and my boy are a similar age so when she Chelasea is in town she always comes over for a chat. She had one on about six months ago and I asked her about it. Keep in mind we are talking an elite athlete her and she swears by it. She wears it during training and contests and says it definatley makes a difference.

Maybe if you rub used Mongolian bat semen into your gums it will help mental alertness in preparation for a big race?

If somebody rubbed that concoction into my mouth I’d know I’d be more alert

Yeah maybe LC, you would struggle to convince every top athlete in our sport, league, AFL, golfers etc etc etc etc etc etc When you start looking there are thousands of them being worn. I am not saying they work (And I wear one) but pull your head out of the sand and just notice how many people are wearing them ;)

I saw something on the tele over the weekend about these and the verdict seems to be a bit unclear still. However mind over matter was suggested.

My oldest son (15) has been into me to get him one so I went to the sports shop and they said $60 and I said maybe next time sunshine. We ended up getting one off the net for $8 which should arrive today, so it will be interesting to see how he goes with it

    Best quote form above article..

i too have worn one, and like most that ware one for the first few times, i’m neither convinced yet weather it dose or dose not assist in balance..

i think a real test might come from say a balance beam or somewhere you know you are unsteady on your feet. do it with and without it on a few occasions back to back..

and then i’d probably still be unsure…

Oh Krusty my poor pessimistic friend I pity anyone that moves through life’s journey without the ability to believe, hope or try.

Firstly they arent all paid to wear one, I know one of Australias top off road guys paid for his. I think it works, nah I would like to believe it works and I am very much a factual person hell the greatest fastest wheelstand I ever did on Cresent Head rd in front of everyone on Micks friday birthday ride was wearing the band, next day I didnt and lost balance and smashed my radiator

I dont have any fancy quotes from Adam Weishaupt whoever’s son he is ?

But to quote Ricky Bobby he said “let me just quote the late great Colonel Sanders”, he said, “I’m too drunk to taste this chicken”

Belief – Good for religions and often used when real tangible things cannot be applied.. ie; I believe in global warming, I believe in blah blah.. Same for theories.. you must believe in a theory since in the end it just a guess..

    Hope –

We have no job, no food on the table and our home has been foreclosed, but at least we have ‘hope’. Phew, thank goodness for that.

‘I’m hungry, mum, can I have some hope, please?’

‘I’m so sorry, darling, you can’t have hope today, only tomorrow – hope is always tomorrow.’

‘So will I eat tomorrow, mum?’

‘We can hope so now, dear, but when we get to tomorrow, we can only hope it’s the next day.’

On and on it goes. That’s how ‘hope’ works. Or rather doesn’t.

Perception is everything my friend.. You perceive that wall to be black I white…

“It doesn’t matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true.”
    – Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace

I have noticed how many people wear them, they are all being taken for a ride.

If they aid balance shouldnt you have one on each wrist to balance yourself out.
