slightly off subject,
but has anyone been told that if you start your bike after washing it, you should get it up to operating temp?
i was told by a KTM/ SUZ / Triumph Mechanic. when buying a 2nd hand 2T bike to be wary of bikes that are washed, started and run to the shed and then turned off.
he explained that if there were any moisture in/around the air box that could be sucked into the engine, it sits on the crank, bearings etc. and can rust these parts. causing crank failure.
where as if the bike is washed and put away without being started is far better than only being run for a moment or two then being put in the shed.
or run to operating temp, it rids the crank case of any water.
i know the point is that you seal off the air box and pipe when washing to avoid this, however some overlook it.

AnonymousI washed my boots for the first time since owning them this weekend. The dirt was so ingrained into the leather/plastic that they don’t really look much different. My knee pads got cleaned too as they were getting too funky for my liking. I’d almost rather put up with the stench of TB’s breath….almost.
