    I’ve seen a Jay Leno tv article where he was demonstrating a machine that could replicate billet parts by 3d scanning them and then machining them like this and it was quite fascinating. For those that don’t know Jay Leno is a massive car enthusiast and his application for the technology was to be able to recreate old parts without an engineering spec so that he could do restorations that where closer replicas than if they had to source compatible alternatives.
