AnonymousEagle you are a true gentleman – thank you for the Karma.
Kylie you have lifted the bar for ride reports, as well as enjoying the ride I enjoyed re-living it with your report. I know we had an arrangement of not giving each other Karma but considering that report I have to break that rule this once.
Thankyou to everyone who came on this ride and made it as good as it was. I am looking forward to the Caves to Caves ride even more now. Especially to sample TB’s baked treats:laugh:
As my fine feathered friend says “Hangin for Hampton” I am too.
DanD (aka Kylie’s bitch)

May 4, 2009 at 12:55 pm #132468This was one of those rides where everyone who was there had a smile non stopB) (and I think anyone who reads the excellent ride report will have one too!
)
Highlights for me
The excellent hosts / ride leader & organiser – The Ds make an awesome team
Completing another 300km ride with no bruises & damage to my bike
Being able to chat to Champo while riding (Thank You Champo for the riding tips – hugely appreciated!!!)
The fantastic company of everyone & the stories & laughs shared
The yummy home baked trail snacks
The pre ride sleepover (especially Mrs Eagles damper dip!)
Preparing for this ride was really different for us as it didn’t invlove loading the bikes, just riding them out of the shed
The ‘care package’ dinner from the Ds on our way home (in the dark!)
Surviving work today despite being very tired & slightly sore (i think i am getting old:dry:)
Everyone on this ride had the OBT spirit running all weekend – made for an excellent weekend
I am looking forward to doing all again soon on the Caves to Caves ride
A special Thank you to Kylie & Dan for absolutely everything that you have done for us
Tracy
May 4, 2009 at 1:10 pm #132179Yeah Tracy,
You should be happy with your ride!!! You went really well all day, AGAIN, it is becoming a habit of yours:laugh:
Good practice for the Caves ride there;)May 4, 2009 at 1:26 pm #132180On a different note,,,,
I went to Tennis tonite to help out Mrs Eagle & overheard a bloke talking about how he competed in a MTB race at St Albans on the weekend:laugh:
I wasn`t game to ask him if he saw any Dirtbikes on the trail (I did think about it foe a second) but he might have been one of the dudes that was waving madly at us to slow down `cause of the dust:laugh:  :laugh:Not our fault they were running the last leg along a public road:blink:
WE WERE HOWEVER ALL DOING QUITE LOW SPEEDS WHILE PASSING THE HUNDRED OR SO MTB`s ANYWAY;)
That`s just more of the OBT spirit & Good Will on show towards fellow trail users…Small world isn`t it????

AnonymousThe karma was well deserved Kylie, it sounds and looks like you and Dan put on a great show
May 5, 2009 at 11:04 am #132527My ride was one of slight difference and much enjoyment. Eagle had been at me to get out on this ride for the last month and rightly so, as this is a good run that we do from time to time. Joe and I met at 7.15 and cruised on out to Freemans Waterhole. That went well till I found an open and empty pocket that my wallet and Phone were supposed to be in. Oooooo Yes! Where the F*** were they. Telling Joe to join the group I started the 35Km return trip eyes scouring every inch of road & tracks on the way, but to no avail. Once at home and ringing the number, the missing offenders were located in the wrong zip in the sleeve pocket at the back of the jacket. Wahooooo. Don’t know who put them there. But if I find him…….
The new goal was now set. How and where could I meet up with the team? A certain degree of urgency was going to be needed in this bypass manoeuvre. Luckily I was riding the orange beast. Skating around the Watagans along Hue Hue, weaving the bends to Yarramalong to fuel up, and then rising up through Ceder Brush Ck Rd. This poked me out of the forest at the Letter A and 2 minutes in front of the Old Bull. No Bull. It was more of a thill ride. Some tasty treats hit the spot and the adrenalin started to subside and everyone was in fine spirits.
This is a beautiful scenic ride and with the rain this year its great to see water in the creeks & lakes again.
Thought it quite weird when after we stopped to check out the convict bridge the KTM was having trouble (Unheard of in the same sentence I know) and gasping for breath. I think the convict bridge was probably built by TB’s ancestors. I did give it a bit of stick on the way up and was considerably concerned. It was lucky it was only the fuel turned off. Still cant believe it mad it so far from home like that. What do you think TB.The D Team had done well with the organisation meeting up with the bridge to bridge & cycle event. The pushbike guys had even made there own temporary bridge out of canoes and planks of wood. This went about 50M across the river. Did anyone get a picture? Lunch was over the first ferry at Wiseman’s Ferry. Champos Eyes were as big as the pies that came out for lunch. There were bikes galore and every type you can imagine. It was quite a show. Now fed and watered it was time for the return leg, across the Webb Cr Ferry and along the other side of the river. At St Albans Joe and I let the pony’s have their head and had a bit of a head rush back up to Buckerty. I though that Joe was wheel standing at 125kph at one stage but that couldn’t be true as Im sure we didn’t go over the speed limit.
Everyone seemed to have a nice run up through there as we all had smiles on our face at the top.
This is where Joe and I said goodbye and shot off down Ceder Brush Ck Rd heading for home. Along the way we saw a Lyre Bird in a certain degree of rush flittering down the road and then some goats came out to meet us but they took off in a rush as well. I don’t know what they were scared and running from but we weren’t going to hang around and find out. It may have just been Joe.Thanks everyone,
will see you soon.May 6, 2009 at 12:00 pm #132181Good One GavB:laugh:
Wasn`t sure whether you would fess up to the wallet stuff up:P It wasn`t really a surprise to see you beat us to the “A”,,,,, I said to Joe at the stop before “Gav just might get ahead of us with some of his whacky shortcuts”
I would like to clear up one point made in an earlier post though,,,,,
Your wallet landed on my lap at the pub,,, I was not the culprit that sneakily lifted it from under your nose some 5 minutes earlier:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Good trick though, ya took the bait pretty easily:dry:Good story, glad that I hassled ya to come (it was easy & I didn`t really haver to twist ya arm at all) Also glad ya found the missing items & were able to join the crew,,,
See ya next week man
Cheers -
