I had the chance to test out a pipe kit from Pro-Clean which is a silencer repacking and expansion chamber cleaning kit.

All in one easy bucket.
First up was the silencer. I had not repacked this since buying it 18 months ago.
A mix of Allen head bolts and rivets ( nice one FMF) were undone to remove the insides.February 10, 2013 at 9:13 am #236491
This crud must have been slowing me down somewhat! This was from the tail section and may have caused the discolouration with some extra heat!
All cleaned up ready to assemble.
Generous packing to suit all types of silencers meant that I needed to trim abit off.
All gift wrapped ready to go back in.February 10, 2013 at 9:17 am #236493
Powercore fitted with the end cap then the main section.
Back together and ready to quietly rumble.February 10, 2013 at 9:23 am #236494
Onto the pipe. The kit states the pipe should be removed from the bike, and I agree it would be a pain trying to do it in place.
Note the dull look.
Supplied cleaning Gel. Once again a generous amount.February 10, 2013 at 9:31 am #236495
Applied liberally with supplied brush. CAUTION: SOME HARSH FUMES WERE PRESENT AT THIS STAGE FROM THE CHEMICALS IN ACTION. My well vented shed was not enough to stop me getting a whiff now and then. Maybe a fan blowing from behind you would help.
Give it a good hit with the supplied scrubbing pad and some elbow grease.
Wash it off with water and admire the sparkle. I added silicon spray to the pipe to stop it rusting again. Not sure if this will keep it at bay or if the spray will burn off.
I was so impressed I applied it to the silencer pipe work.February 10, 2013 at 9:36 am #236496Well done Galey I love people’s reviews on here, thanks for taking the time mate and the pictures and the story

Still heaps of gel left for another 2 or 3 uses.
Pros: Everything you need is included. No looking for a brush or running to the hardware shop.
Generous amounts of packing and gel.
IT WORKS!Cons:SOME fumes from the gel chemicals at work on the pipe.
GaleyKTM300 Rating = 9/10
February 10, 2013 at 9:44 am #236498The packaging states it is for 2 strokes but I think the 4 stroke riders would also benefit from a little polish on the pipe work. The repacking material may also be used in the 4 stroke silencers. I cant be sure though.
February 10, 2013 at 9:49 am #236499Thanks Galey, top review mate.
I will have to send my pipe down to get a polish.

February 10, 2013 at 10:37 am #236492Nice review!
A 4 stroke pipe can be repacked with normal long strand matt however it won’t last long, the exhaust column is too hot. If you wrap the core in stainless steel wool then use the matt it will last.
I used to have a roll of both in the shop but ive run out of the stainless. I do still have a massive roll of exhaust matt.
Free exhaust matt to any old bull members, just drop in and use the secret handshake.February 10, 2013 at 10:21 pm #23650018 months Galey?! That silencer must sound like lightning claps every time that 300 fired. You probably had to poke out the carbon with a nail from the perforated core too. …
February 11, 2013 at 2:19 pm #236507Axe , the packing was good and the core was clean enough that I didnt have to wire brush it. Motorex oil at 45:1.
