Wiseco do some very “how do you do ” piston/rig kits..Perhaps KTMRATS friend stocks them ? On the Frame..any thought to White Powder Coat?…
Chrome??? Moto..XR’s are heavy enough to push as is, without adding Chrome to the frame :cheer:

Check the Bore on the donk i gave you it was std still the orignal piston if your piston wont fit this bore its bigger

I personaly dont like wiseco as in MY experence there the kmart version of pistons and had a few unhappy ones in the past but these were hi rev race engines ,I am sure some get good results from them but you get what you pay for

If you want we could have a look at the head Friday arvo at your bar

have you heard of XR’s only? and JE pistons?

    Al Baker’s XR’s only

they do 629cc/100mm – 654cc/102mm kits for the 600’s. around the US$200 mark.

there are loads of yank sites/ builders use the JE stuff, but i have not heard of any experience out here.

Actually XR’s only aren’t getting all that good of a rap on Thumpertalk as of late. A few people have been bagging them.

The piston is a heap bigger than the stock piston probably by about 2mm all round. It also has a flat top as opposed to being concave like a stock one as well.

Already have a set of stainless ones to go on it.;) Just need a decent muffler for it.

Wouldn’t mind finding a set of USD forks for it either.

Bugger!!!,I just spotted that the counter shaft on the engine I pulled out of it is worn to blazes where the sprocket goes on it..

Hey Bull, the bottom end you gave me has a good shaft in it, can you remember if the rest of the bottom end was OK?

Well Mick a project you wanted, a project you got.

JE pistons are good stuff in my experience, surely with the popularity of the big XRs, one would find parts a woolies?

My old XR250 had a white frame, personally I didn’t like it, the CR red was much nicer.

all red plastics on an all red frame looks horn IMHO.
