 You think you can’t wait that long?

HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL? (Yes I am shouting)

The graphics are going to look absolutely super special. But yes we all have to wait because the bike will be put back together mid November. BTW I am not applying the graphics to the plastics. Tee n Cee till do that for me because if I did it (or if anyone attempted it) I think it would be disasterous.

I do have the images that Tee n Cee have sent through of the graphics but I am purposely holding off on posting them because you need to see the final result to get the full impact, I think anyway. :)

for the sake of sounding like an uneducated uninformed goose, I’m gunna ask it anyway.

What is the difference between the normal DRZ and a Motard one ?

Feel free to snicker and giggle, I can take it.

But I know the molecular structure of the South African Burrowing Green Knat, do you?

I dont really but I like people to think I’m educated :S    :S

The only difference I think would be the wheels, the rest would be the same.

    except for the pillion pegs.

Motard one means you have a motard DR like everybody else, Kylie’s mean she is an individual with a far better bike build to suit her the way see wants with everything she wants and nothing she doesn’t :P

The 17 inch wheels and tyres is the most obvious but there are a few more differences between the DRZ400E and DRZ400SM.

The bikes are basically the same but the SM has a de-tuned version of the E motor, why they de-tune it for the road I don’t know.

The SM has milder cams, a thicker base gasket for less engine compression, a CV carby instead of the flat slide and a smaller header pipe.

The E also gets better suspension. The SM gets an inverted fork which at first would seem better but they are very basic forks with only preload adjustment and NO compression or rebound adjusters.

The SM shock has preload adjustment and low speed compression only and no rebound adjustment. The E has high and low speed compression and rebound. The SM also has less travel front and rear. All up the suspension on the E is far better than the SM.

The rear swing arms are also different, not sure if they are different lengths but the rear wheel adjusters are different.

I personally think if you want a motard DRZ400 your better of converting an E than buying the SM. All you need for the E is the 17 inch wheels and bigger brake then you end up with more power and better suspension then a standard SM.

To get a SM up to E spec would cost a shitload more and the SM is more expensive of the show room floor to start with.

    Thanks for that Scotty!

I was going to put a post on that I thought that the suspension would be better on the E than the SM however I am just a girl so I wouldnt have had a clue whether that was correct or not. Good suspension is really important to me.
