As I couldn’t make the pie in the sky ride on the 9th and as I have been waiting for another Motard ride weekend that I don’t thinks going to happen
I thought the weekend of the 16th and 17th when Salina is away would make a good weekend for a ride.
The ride will start at around 1-30pm sat arvo the 16th from the Macquarie Arms Hotel at Windsor (Cnr George & Thompson streets)
The plan is to travel up the Putty rd, across to Broke, over through Paynes Crossing to Wollombi Pub. Some refreshments and then towards Cessnock across Sandy creek rd, through Mulbring, over Mt Sugarloaf and into the Newcastle for the evening or somewhere around there  .
I would hope we would get to a Pub for a few and maybe catch up with some of the local Bulls for a brew maybe. The next day down to the Central Coast for breakfast, then out through Yarramalong, up Bumble hill,
Option 1
Across Mangrove Mountain to Spencer then Wiseman’s Ferry for Lunch finishing at Windsor(Option 2)
down to Peat’s Ridge and then the old Pacific Hwy to the pie in the sky for a stop over. From there down through Galston Gorge to Galston and to Wiseman’s Ferry for lunch. After that back to Windsor and finishedYou can join in anywhere you want and leave anywhere you want not necessary to do the lot if you don’t wish. It is an all black top ride no dirt at all. If you want to ride a road bike you are more then welcome or even you bike on knobbies if you so desire
It will be a casual ride at a casual pace
Day 1 – 273 km – about 4 hours 44 mins
Option 1
Day 2 – 209 km – about 4 hours 29 minsOption 2
Day 2 – 268 km – about 5 hours 21 minsList
– TB
– Mal 5.1
– Crash

–Accommodation on the Saturday night is unclear and we will treat it like that, a mystery tour as such

AnonymousHey is Putty Road more popular than George Downe’s Drive for bike riders? I only ask because we went to Koolang Observatory last night and came back via George Downes Drive through Laguna, Wollombi and Sandy Creek Road. It is very twisty and I thought Putty Road was more popular for riding but George Downes looks like it would be more fun on a bike.
January 1, 2010 at 10:48 pm #166758I have always thought they had the same bike traffic when I rode them, George Downs drive would be getting busy now maybe as the halfway house is gone.
As a ride there isnt much difference, a lot of people leave Sydney and do the loop through Wollombi / Laguna and use both George down drive / old pacific hwy and the other half the putty rdTB

All is cool with the Pie in the sky ride TB, I had to postpone it anyway; that whining noise is getting fixed in my bike and have to wait for a new torque limiter from the maker (hope I get a good one this time).
Sorry about my being offline so much lately, my modem chucked a major hissy and I am waiting for a replacement for that too so I am now using a council library computer (free).
Also waiting for a replacement handheld CB radio, it went belly up too.
Everything is falling to pieces ATMbut the good thing is I dont have to pay for any of it
January 3, 2010 at 9:08 am #166302So no other takers for this run yet ???
I am apparently taking a run from home up to Broke to meet the crew, then ride back for a beer here on the SaturdayBUMP
