Well been getting into riding a fair bit lately, and I’m geting along with the old RMX pretty well,,,loving it actually, since a few mods were made.
Any way I always seem to be abel to dodge large puddles,,,,actually I’m a woos when it comes to geting wet:huh:   So with all the rain we’v had lately,I know that there is a lot of water on the ground, and some pretty larg puddles across the tracks with no way round.
Hangin for a ride for a few days now,so today is the day, water n all:ohmy: just have to harden the f#ck up I tell my self as I’m geting into my nice cleen n dry gear in the shed.
No more than 30 seconds off the tar and I come to the first long muddy puddle, set my self up for a slow run into it,thought that I was on the ball,,,next thing, SPLASH, I’m head first into the F#cking thing,,next thing I know my gogles are filling up with muddy water as I’m face down in it,,drenched to the bone,,jumped up quick riped my bike out of threre, put it on the stand, then just started pissing my self laughing:laugh:   Any way it was all good,I had a bit of a rinse off in the puddle get a bit of the mud of the grips with a wet glove,,bike starts no worries,n I’m off again, still laughing out loud.
There was loads of long, fairly deep puddles out there,so I Figered,,today is the day that I get used to riding puddles:ohmy:  :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Well I never came off again and road some fairly decent slipery ones to boot, all the way laughing every time that I thought of that face dive into the mud.
Wound up having a top ride out there for a couple of hours:cheer: The RMX has turned out to be a realy tough, reliable n fun bike to ride,,the only thing missing was some fellow riders who could of had a ball, taking the piss.
    Cheers Teza.

Just got back from a quick ride in the mud and puddles myself:woohoo: .

I didnt end up face down in a puddle but went into a long wet area and it didnt look deep my DRZ nearly disappeared and my boots filled with water.:( .

I was by myself so now wishing I was riding a lighter bike. After some slipping and sliding and straining my arms and back I got it out.:)

Last time today I went down any tracks I didnt know but had fun in the mud makes for some good slides.

Nice one Teza, it’s always the way isn’t it. Kind of like crossing creeks and lifting your boots up high so you don’t get wet, only to ditch it in the drink and end up soaked.

    Teza and Kevdog,

    Don’t ride alone

    We need witnesses :P

Justo and I did a little Ourimbah dash on Saturday and planned on ending on an old loop that has a creek crossing at the end.

After the recent storm events this crossing now needs a ferry

We back tracked to the only other crossing which had submerged logs and holes and waded the bikes thru water thigh deep, the bonus was there was no mud

    Gotta love the wet
Give me a rainy day against a dusty day anytime
So what if you get wet, its only water.
All is good until you drown a bike. :(
I remember Mal5.1 and I running back and forth through a bloody deep hole years ago just for the fun of it. In hindsight we were lucky not to drown them but it was summer and seemed like fun at the time.
    Cheers

Well went out for a ride again today, same place different track,It followed the creek all the way along, any way I came to a steep drop off, dark sand n some clay with a streem at the bottom and a climb out about the same as the way in within tall timber type country, the water was only a couple of mtr’s across but looked dark,,,well how deep could it be ,I thought??? Down I go,,woh! the front weel just kept going under,,,I sh#t my self, hit the gas n powered through and up the other side,:woohoo:
I ‘m sure that I herd the exaust go under,it got pretty quiet there for a second but the power stayed on,drenched to the waste I presed on through some more puddles that were way deeper than they should have been.
The track turned into the creek bed with lots of large bolders, but riders had forged a track through,it wasn’t quite as bad as it looked,Then it came to a big old tree right across the track, riders had built up rocks to make it over.
I think that I could have riden it, but I was feeling pretty alone by now so I turned back.
Made it out ok ,back home for the wash up,,feelin pretty good, about it,:cheer: :cheer: but cant help wondering, what’s up past that fallen tree?
    Cheers Teza

Wise move to turn around when you felt doubtful Teza, especially on your own, mate.
Be very carefull of those dark creek crossings and in fact any puddle you can’t see the bottom.
Its all great fun if you get through but can really turn to shit if you drown the bike. Its a fine line. B)

Murph he’s on a RMX B) Nothing can stop them !! Nice to see you getting out there Teza , like Murph said be careful when you are getting out of your comfort Zone , maybe a spot tracker could be a good idea or one of those GPS Locators that have a distress function B)

Yeh! thanks guyes for the words of wisdom,I’v been thinking of some kinde of tracking divice,as most of my rides are alone.I do like to explor new tracks, and it can get a bit scarery some times  I don’t realy know anyone that rides anymore out side of OBT crew, and I’m always keen to get onto a ride ,when it’s within reach.
Well I’m loving riding again:cheer: and the old RMX is feeling more like a frend than a devil:laugh: It’s been a long time coming.
    cheers Teza.
