gave my youngest bloke his first ride on the pw50 today he went well.but the auto clutch desided to stay not engaged so it is like a manual bike in gear still runs but has no slip in gearbox .spose i will have to pull the moter out and check the clutch has anyone got any idears.drained the oil it looked okay it said on the side of the moter 300cm3 does this mean 300mls

cant help with the clutch problem tho rocket im sure others on here will be able to clue you up

July 6, 2010 at 6:12 am #183214If you aren’t sure I would run and then flush it with the recommended oil and then refill with the recommended oil and try it before I pulled the clutch out mate, and yeah 300mls

July 6, 2010 at 6:19 am #183215that oil was in there prably 5years of abuse the bike shop said it would be okay because i had some they sold it to me for the wr400 i had at the time .just tryed some castrol gps same result think i will try the bike shop again see what they recomend again

July 6, 2010 at 8:17 am #183221went to the local bike shop had a look on the computer and a yarn reckon a spring jumped of the clutch or broke will have a look tomorrow ps nothing wrong with the oil grade etc

April 27, 2011 at 2:10 pm #183398Hey Rocket, did you have to pull the whole motor out to get the clutch out?? The frame seems to be a pain in the arse in order to get the clutch cover off?? The reason I ask is that some one has bought a PW50 to me with the same symptoms as you described.
April 27, 2011 at 9:20 pm #200181yep had to pull the moter out it looks like a pain in the but to get out but is not to hard.just have a look at it before you start the whole moter and backwheel just roll out of the frame after undoing a few bolts

As you said it isnt that hard to do, as a few blokes may come across the same problem in future I have done up a bit of a how to do series, on the job.
Follow these steps and it is very straight forward1. Drain engine oil, out of 12mm bolt, on right side of
Engine case, into suitable container2. Remove rear baffle off rear of exhaust pipe
3. Remove seat
4. Remove exhaust from cylinder head and take off bike
5. Remove rear brake cable adjustment nut, pull cable out of spring and pivot.
6. Remove rear axle nut, right hand side
7. Remove rear lower shock mounting bolts
8. Remove right side upper and lower swing arm nuts and
remove swing arm9. Remove phillips screw in top of carburettor and remove
Slide and choke assembly and hang over frame on cables10. Turn fuel off and disconnect fuel line from
Carb,. Remove fuel tank strap and front bolt – remove fuel tank11. Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug
12. Disconnect wiring harness connectors at engine (all)
13. Remove upper motor mount to frame bolt
14. Remove oil injector cover and screw, remove injector
Cable, removing oil line and clamp or plug hose15. Remove rear wheel – carefully, engine will be loose in
Frame16. Remove engine assembly from frame and set aside. (use
Kickstand to set engine on work area)17. Remove phillips screws and 12mm drain plug from right side
engine cover. (carefully remove cover not to damage
Gasket) mark phillips screws upon disassembly. (some
Are longer than others)18. Remove snap ring from clutch shaft and remove
Clutch hub19. Remove clutch assembly and replace with new springs,
Be sure to inspect clutch hub and shoes for wear or
heat damage. Install new gasket if damaged in
Disassembly20. **installation is reverse of these procedures**
21. Refill engine oil before start up. 300ml
