Either this arvo or one arvo this week I want to shake off the cobwebs (mine, not the bike) and just go for a blat locally (Kempsey of course). Nothing heavy, and close so I can ride there and not load the ute etc. Just a cruisy ride, with a little bit of dirt :)

Directions from anyone that “knows” the immediate area appreciated … coz I have no idea other than the local streets at this point

Do I just head out Crescent Head road like Ollie mentioned? But where do I turn off/in to get some dirt? Be just like me to ride up someone’s driveway and have to make a hasty retreat! :silly:

You can head south out of kempsey and head into the bush on youor left once you get past the road works. I had a quick run through there once on my Tenere, it’s reasonably flat and not such a bif area that you would get lost. Maria River state forest, head in at railway Dam road.

You can also get there off Crescent head road

Have a look on google maps to get an idea of the layout.

yeh mate as Jeffro suggested, if you go down Cresent head Rd take the second right and then the next right, will bring you onto the railway service line. All the tracks to the left are easily accessible and my old stomping grounds. If you follow the service Rd all the way south, you will come to a railway underpass, if you turn left here about 30 metres in you will see a little single track, this is the enduro loop. If you turn right at the underpass, then take the next right, this is scribbly gum and is an awsome little trail. which eventually brings you back out near the hwy. Best bet is to get the Kempsey Map and Kundabung map from the camping shooting shop in the main street of kempsey.

Thanks Jeffro and Ollie, good info.

As mentioned in my other thread, yesterday’s Blat didn’t happen … but I’ve checked the area out on Google Maps and I’ll get maps from the camping shop today. Might take Wednesday or Thursday off work as a “me day” and go for it :woohoo:

Thanks for the offer, but gotta work in Sydney tomorrow … so the only part of Port I’ll be seeing will be the airport early morning and then again tomorrow night :)

Always good to get a bit of “me time”.
