Just looking through a few threads and noticed a few guys looking into racing.

i’m only 29 but i’ve been there and got some plastic in the cupboard from it. At the end of the day you spend a shit load on preparing your bike and fees and stuff for a $5 bit of plastic to sit on the shelf.

It can be fun but i enjoy ripping through the bush racing mates and stopping for a bullshit story or two then getting into it again.

Just my view on this thats all

I’m not interested in what I get given for finishing, I’m interested in the experience of competing against others and seeing if I can improve myself, being part of the scene and having a laugh too.

The $5 bit of plastic is just a bonus if I’m lucky enough to be in a position to receive it. the fees are expensive though, just like everything else to do with motorbikes.

I just want to be the first bloke that’s won an aussie race on a 2 stroke that’s all! Aren’t we all here to prove each other wrong? :p

I do enjoy competition and appreciate there’s a lot of cost for the trophy but that’s not what I’m after. FWIW I used to race water skiis back when I was young enough that it cost my dad a boat load of money for my trophies but I did it for the enjoyment and pride of having hard work paying off – not the trophy. I can still smell the av gas that would be polluting the air before every race. I still remember puking on my wetsuit because I was so nervous and excited but I couldn’t sit up because I was strapped into my race ski and laying on the back of the boat ready to motor out into the deep start. I still remember screaming in pain for over 60kms along the grafton river because my bindings were too tight but still smiling and patting my ski partner on the back as we crossed the finish line.

As per the riding alone discussion – there’s a lot of different views on what is an acceptable risk or in this cast cost versus reward.
