October 6, 2009 at 6:25 am #155330Thank you to everyone for their birthday wishes!
We had a great weekend away & I also really liked looking at all the photos finally too!It was weird today because I could read this thread at work but for some reason the photos wouldn’t load for me, so I had no idea of what Champo had put up  It was odd seeing everyone’s wishes but having no idea what everyone was seeing when it is about you! I really like the pictures – Thanks Champo for all your efforts with them!

AnonymousSquirrel, I can see your current IP address and it will be blocked with my flux capacitor shortly. Surely even a lowly ferret like yourself would want to mar a thread like this, Tracy hasn’t done anything to you.
I bet she’d even give you strokes if she saw you.

Anonymoushey moto. as you can see, we went karting again up at pacific park on racy’s birthday. we went out on a wet track. OM it was so different to when we went out (dry track) the karts would understeer masively, but went you apply drive the front and would stop pushing. weird. but so much fun. oh. and massive powerslides too

racy spun out 3 times. i think that was less then average. (there were about 12 of us out on the track)

That class of karts are allowed to run cut tyres or wets when it rains so when racing at a wet event you loosen everything on the chassis including the centre rear axle bearing, side pods and the floor panel to allow the chassis to flex and get more heat in the tyres. You pump the tyres up really hard so instead of being flat on the road surface area they are pointed sort of and you raise you seat up so you can lean forward and get more weight on the front, if you don’t have time to raise the seat you sit on an old tyre and finally move the front wheels out and rears in so the fronts clear the water for the rears as best as slicks can.

Anonymousthe unoffical kart thread
i couldn’t change the setup but i could experiment with driving styles. i shifted my weight outwards on corners and leaned forward when breaking. both seemed to help. i understand how rear drive helps reduce understeer in bikes and offroad atv. i didn’t expect it to work on karts (no diff or front brakes) i will have to think about that.
…
aha i think i may have it sorted -
