I can verify the stuff about hondas past is true, I still have the magazines with many of these quotes in it about Mick D s era and fast Freddie Spencers dogs breath oval piston bombs.
And it was the worlds worst secret about Hondas Baja bikes at the time.

This is not a shot at the honda fans (christ I was one)Honda had/has some honorable engineers, pity about the executive level on the top floor and their Corporate religious fervour, and the rest are weak sheep.

very interesting. i’m about 2/3 through it. i will get back to it later.

i have been keen to convert a normal 2t motor to a trapping valve motor for some time. however, i am waiting for the manufactures to do it. i’m getting a little sick of waiting.

last time i looked, i think that subaru may have owned the pataint. bastards.

A very long but interesting article. The guy jabbered on a bit but what he had to say was very interesting, I like the idea of a fuel and oil injected bike that’s light and with heaps of torque and power.

I was just saying with TB the other day that I was tempted to by a 300 smoker I saw for sale, the reason I didn’t is lack of engine braking (which I’m sure I could learn to live with) but the vibration and mixing of the oil. Having to mix your own oil on a $13K bike is rediculous.

2 strokes could be in my furture if some of these ideas get developed.

Moto, the vibration was an issue for me over the years, but i have worked out how insulate my mounts, and while certainly more vibey than a TTR250, it is very liveable even with my left wrist which was snapped and broken backwards in an industrial accident.

The mixing of the fuel is ded easy, 330ml in a small container in yer backpack, half fill up and add then complete filling, it almost self mixes these days no biggy, more hassle to adjust tyre pressure.

I too hope to see a torquey low emissions lightweight bike finally made, the blokes on TT are highly sceptical on the idea, personally I believe it’s because it’s not all from the land of apple pie.

i carry an old uni filter oil bottle with 10 divisions scratched into it (25ml each). so 1 division per litre gives 40:1.

my opaque tank has litres marked on it too.

    the simple life for me;)

Yeah but you have the privilege of riding a boat anchor (BA) as well:laugh:

The weight of 125mls of oil compared to the extra weight of the BA,give me the hasel of mixing fuel anyday.;)

All jokes aside (and you overtaking me is a good one) I have recently considerd buying a 300. Menace will also tell you that I PM’d him last week and asked for a ride of his bike at Louee for that very same reason…..

I honestly think 2t’s are a better option, it’s just my gripes above that are still preventing me from changing………..but you never know :)
