Well stuff me,
I got pulled over this morning by a Cycle Cop I was actually about 5k over the speed limit
But he wasn`t interested in that, he let me be aware that my plate is illegally attached to my rear guard, and must be held in a vertical position where cameras can pick it up      :laugh:Said its fine if I was Dirt riding but not on the road,,,,,,What about TO & FRO I wonder???
He was actually quite polite & let me go when I pleaded that I wawsn`t aware of that  and promised to rectify the problem this arvo,,,,,
February 2, 2010 at 5:03 am #170102So yours is on your back guard?
February 2, 2010 at 5:04 am #170103Who’s been a naughty boy
Could you explain how you have your rego plate atatched Eags.
So as others don’t get caught out mate
Cheers
MurphFebruary 2, 2010 at 5:07 am #170113Hey AB, did you get the TM sorted
If so we have three days of riding this weekend
As always your more than welcome mate
Cheers
MurphFebruary 2, 2010 at 5:16 am #170115I think I have
I pulled the plug cleaned it and kicked it over and it ran for a while then stalled so I put the other plug in it and it ran fine and I took it for a ride and no issues. I’m confused though because we tried both of those plugs plus one of Moto’s and it still didn’t want to go in the bush. Concern is that it had moisture then dried out but it’s hard to say. I’ll get a couple of new plugs to be safe anyway.
I’d really like to get a ride so thanks for the offer I’ll see how I go might get a day in.

If you’ve got a crank drain open that, drain and blow carb also.
February 2, 2010 at 5:42 am #170112It has been for the past year or so,,,, Now it is mounted under the guard on a profast replica plate holder,,,,, Custom made by ME !!!! Ha Ha

MurphIt was wrapped over the back of the rear guard, as I see tonnes of other bikes around doing !!!!
It was on about a 50 degree angle which apparently is no good for the cameras to get a shot of
But now it is mounted on an aluminium plate that hangs from under the rear of the guard, as the ProFast ones do you see in the mags etcI simply made mine myself in a hurry
Will get a pic of itFebruary 2, 2010 at 5:52 am #170104It was screwed to guard here,,,
February 2, 2010 at 5:54 am #170105Now it hangs below the guard here ,,,
February 2, 2010 at 6:02 am #170106No need for Panic I think Murph, as he said it was fine to be there if I was Dirt Riding but not on the road  How that works I don`t know
By the letter of the law I should have a light on the plate too, but that was removed long ago,,, He didn`t even mention that thoughAs I do so much commuting, I thought I`d better just stick it below on an angle closer to 90 degrees as if the commuter would be caught speeding by a camera anyway
I thought about leaving it there, but the chance of him being there another morning on my way to work is quite possible, especially now that he knows where I go to get to work
It is a 3 minute swap to change it back for the dirt anywayFebruary 2, 2010 at 6:14 am #170121Good job Eagle
Just a word of caution though
If the new plate holder is made of alloy becareful of it work hardening and breaking off.
I made some blinker brackets many years ago and they didn’t even last two months
Food for thought mate
Cheers
MurphFebruary 2, 2010 at 6:16 am #170107Yeah, I thought of that,, so I made it from 3mm plate
Solid as a rock  Should be able to handle to Super Commuter punishment no worries
Cheers

No I am not the nice one around here at all , I am the law breaking one :laugh:And no I didn`t crap myself when he pulled me over, but I did wonder what the twin headlights bearing down on me at a fast rate as i approached the traffic lights were
Then I thought,,,, Be quiet, stay calm & when he turns his head,,,,,,OUTRUN HIM         that would have been a sight hey ???
As for hiding the OBT paraphanalia
