    Hi All,
As some of you would know I recently purchased a three legged Donkey from a lovely fellow I met in Lake Cathie. At the time of purchase he was nothing special, just a nice bloke, but shortly after the transaction ( extremely luckily for me) he became the new King thus vastly increasing the value of my acquisition B) (sorry King we can’t re negotiate :P)
I unloaded it when I got it back from the castle and cast an eye over it for a few items I was going to need to personalize said donkey and try to ensure that it wouldn’t be trying to mate with its cousins (being a royal and all) and buck me off every time I rode it past a paddock.

I had to test if I was going to be able to push the royal donkey up onto the non royal transport vehicle (I dont think the King has had him on the royal diet)

So after a busy week on the phone and giving the bank balance a floggin’ here is what I ended up with……….

I have also ordered a steering damper which will be about another week :( that comes with new bar clamps (so I ordered the fat ones). So far today it has a new braided front brake line, pivot pegz, oil cooler guard and a case saver, some triple clamp mounts for the bark busters fitted and I started mucking around the the Garmin Zumo 660 ( where to mount etc)

Apart from that it has had every electrical connection on the rear end disconnected, WD40’d and reconnected, throttle and clutch cables lubed ( I think some corgi hair came out of the throttle return cable  ) and obviously it has new fluid in the front brake

Here is how it looks at the moment,

    So for tomorrow……..
Check all the front end electrics, play with the GPs a bit more, open and register the Spot ( might need your help Eagle :P) pull the forks and shock out to take to Teknik on Monday arvo, lube all of the rear suspension pivots (swing arm and link bearings) and grease the steering head bearings.
Better check the commoners’ fridge to make sure there is enough refreshment ;)

If I have enough time I will take a trip to MCA to check out some helmet’s and adv pants.
Will keep you posted on the progress of the donkey…………

You must have a good standing with the Minister ???

Either that, or YOU are the Minister of W&F down your way

Great work so far TR,,, looking forward to seeing you on your first Nav Ride mate B)

Hi TR, I can personally confirm that that bike didn’t miss a beat on the recent big ride. A few shiny bolt ons and she will be good for years to come. ;)

And the beauty is you can charge a fee to pull 4WD’s and tractors out of mud holes when your not adventure riding

I like the sound of that Ace, I think a carton would be a fair fee

Its coming along Eagle, the minister wouldn’t have a clue how much things cost, there is an XR250 and an XR350 in the shed that she doesn’t know exist B)

Today I got the call from Teknik’s to say the suspenders are done, come get ’em.
I was there in a flash and also called into Ballards for a few more bits to help finish it off.

I have used Tekniks before and had a good experience and it was no different this time.
They were friendly, professional and delivered a prompt service :)

Now just waiting for the damper……………. I have been told Wednesday / Thursday next week.

Still deciding on a helmet and some new knee braces, braces will probably be asterisk B)

    getting there……….
