I just thought i would put pen to paper..or finger to keyboard to write a review on the rekluse clutch which is currently sitting snug in my little crf 450. B)
Firstly,i was lucky enough to win this great little addition to my bike at last years birthday ride. The legends down there at Suttos supplied this great award and i can only sing their praises.
Back in September i finally got around to taking my bike down to Suttos to get it put in.The staff at Suttos were amazing. They were very friendly and knew their stuff and the whole experience proved to me why they are the greatest bike shop in Western Sydney ;)
As an added bonus,TB and his lovely family put me up for the night and i got to experience the night life of Hooters :woohoo: …i’m sure if you search back through previous “ride reports” its in there somewhere :P
In laymans terms..for those of you who know nothing about the rekluse clutch…it basically turns your bike into an automatic..a bit like riding a mad fuel injected nitro postie bike :cheer: .
Took a lit bit of getting used to.Powering out of corners in any gear is now a breeze and it takes away your reliance on over use of the clutch.Pulling up on a corner to have a yarn to a fellow old bull is sooo cool as you dont have to smash down the gears to find neautral and those embasing stall moments are a thing of the past. Some may say it makes you a lazy rider but NO my fury little friends..i believe it has made me a better rider.Steep down hills have always been sphincta tightning moments for me and i use to rely heavily on engine braking. With the rekluse clutch,if you apply the break going down the steep incline, the engine breaking cuts out.The only way to re – engage this is to actually throttle!!!Holy snapping ducks that took a bit of getting use to.Now i am finding i am a better rider down hill and my sphincta gets to relax a bit more(but not too much  )
All an all it’s a pretty cool bit of kit ;) ..and i love it :cheer:
A big thanks to Sutto’s and you Old Bulls for giving me the opportunity to ride with a totally awesome addition to my bike :cheer:
Anyone who wants to have a go, you are more than welcome to jump on my bike at the birthday ride in July and check it out for your self :) . I have a date with Eagle on the friday night to knock off a certain bottle of rum…so i will probably be asleep under a tree on the Saturday anyway :P

a “Cluth” Lefty, is a rare endagered small mammal commonly found in the ancient Jurasic Nundle Pines area. They have been known to attach themselves to motor bikes and can be a very angry little critter indeed :P

So do these things automatically slip the clutch to keep the revs up if you load up the engine and it starts to bog down. ie going up a hill. Thinking about it as I type I guess they must. Low revs means idle which means clutch fully disengaged, high revs means more centrifugal force which means clutch more and more engaged (no slipping). How adjustable is it Boll. Do you have to change your oil more often and need different oil.

Standard oil mate and it is infinitely adjustable. It is very simple to dial in the pick up point.
