January 3, 2012 at 9:09 pm #213996Sorry won’t be happening
That is my ‘Mr mum’ weekend. Nevermind i will be keeping an eye out for some more local adv rides taking place in the near future.
January 3, 2012 at 9:29 pm #213111No dramas Ace,
There will be more chances during 2010January 4, 2012 at 2:20 pm #213997Never graded an adventure ride Ace. Eags bit is all dirt roads easy. The run from Bilpin to the camp site is well umm harder
you would get the Bemmer down there because gravity is always your co-pilot
Nah it’s easy enough

Less than a week to go now
January 9, 2012 at 12:23 am #214178Well I was tossing up which bike to take for this, the DRZ or the Tenere. The Tenere is more comfortable but needed a new chain and doesn’t have full nobbies and DRZ is more fun but was misfiring a bit last time out and needs a new countershaft seal. I bought a new chain for the ten and a new seal for the DRZ today and set about fitting them. I cleaned them both first as neither had been washed since their last rides then fitted a new chain to the Ten which got rid of that horrible crunching sound (thank god, if it wasn’t the chain making the sound I would have been worried). While I was washing the DRZ I noticed the back tyre was getting close to a slick with only 3 or 4mm of centre knob left and being that I am a lazy bastard who can’t be bothered changing it, I am going with the Tenere.
I also discovered it has the cush drive like the newer ones (contrary to what I was told on here a while back) and which are also reasonable worn, so I cut some pieces out of an old tube to beef them up a bit. I will only ride Friday and Saturday though as I have a few things I need to get done this weekend.
What time are we heading out Eag’s? Not too early Friday as I have to drop my car in to the mechanics in the morningJanuary 9, 2012 at 12:27 am #214268Oops, just re-read the first post about leaving around 3.30pm which definately isn’t too early at all.
January 9, 2012 at 8:20 am #214269Where were you told you Tenere didn’t have a Cush drive rubbers? I am sure all Teneres, NXs and those era ADV bikes have them. The TTs, XTs, XRs etc didn’t.
Can you take a picture of the rubbers and what they look like in the older Tenere please as I am interested in the old designCheers

I think I brought it up in one of your threads about cush drive rubbers. HERE
Next time I have the wheel off I can take a picture but they look to be the same as in yours.

Not real sure at this stage as I haven`t been that way before
I suppose we will be in Wisemans around 9-930 to fuel & have a pie before riding that way from Webbs Creek Ferry…
You would have a better idea on the timespan ???
As far as the pub,,, I am right for grog (just need a cool bottle of coke sometime in the arvo for sat night)
Is a counterlunch at the pub a good idea ? We have plenty of time I think :laugh:Looks like only me & Jeffro riding anyway & he is probably returning home sat arvo (not camping) .
Deano is on call at work and his 690 is in bits awaiting Rallyraid tanks & bling
SO I may be camping and riding home solo on Sunday ,,,Cheers

Camp there at TB`s spot XSecret spot all good Beags great camp but not really a secret  , but mate honestly St Alburns to Bilpin 3 hrs max on a KTM stuck in first gear  The way you want to go is also really the only way you can go to Bilpin as well from St Alburns. Although pack a cartoon and you can spend the afternoon sucking cans
Could add a bit to another camp?TB
So looks like about 12.30 at the meet point then
Heaps of time for a counterlunch, beer and still poke around on way to camp -
