October 13, 2009 at 9:31 pm #155967G’day TB, not getting much local support here due to the potential road miles your hinting at. How many K’s of actual “road” or fast fire trail are we talking about?

CheersAxel I dont know the klms that we have to transport. The Bridle trail is fairly open but fun. The start of the Hillend to Long Point is about 5 kms bitumen and then about the same dirt road then the fun twin trail and the grid jumps start, there is another bit of dirt road to get into the single trails in Mullion creek which we will be riding for about 4 hrs etc
Going back
After a nice counter lunch we will go out to the sweet almost unused singles out the back of Clifton Grove for a couple of hours then head back through Ophir. The section from Ophir to the top of Root Hog ridge is some dirt road but from there to Root Hog crossing is a challenge and so is the crossing itself
Look its what it is if you dont come you can read the report and see if you like it and next time join in if you like in

October 14, 2009 at 1:39 am #155968Had to rename this ride as we moved the start point
We will ride the bridle trail to Hillend 40 odd kms, top up the fuel and ride out across long point and up into Mullion Creek State Forest for some of the below
Then into Orange for fuel and maybe a counter lunch
Out into Kinross State forest for some of this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtGI5gVXyvg&feature=channel_page
And then over through Roothog Crossing and back down the bridle trail to the cars
Will be twin trails, open singles, tight singles, one short dirt road, the Bridle trail and the bitumen into and out of Orange.

October 15, 2009 at 3:44 am #154848OK TB, have been negotiating here for a solution.
Have yet to ask if Rocket wants to come, will ring him tonight.I have myself and a ride buddy confirmed with a proposed plan for us:
As far as I understand your route, your coming from Hill End to Mullion State Forest partway through your ride. Ride the forest then ride into Orange for Lunch. From Orange ride out to Kinross for some nice mountain bike trails (mmmm).
Due to the long drive from Dubbo, and because our 2 smokers hate transport riding, we propose to wait at Mullion Creek Forest on the side that you lads are coming from at a pre-determined time and place. We ride with you guys in there and to Orange and back out. We will end our ride after the Kinross forest section when you guys head back to Bathurst somehow. Basically the best bits.
If, we don’t meet up at that time then so be it. Separate rides it is.
Is this a possibility or against OBT ride policy?
