I don’t why we’re allowed to shoot innocent deer. I can understand a bit more if an animal is considered a pest but still don’t see a need to kill it in a inhumane way where the animal has to suffer.

We lock people for up cruelty to dogs and cats, why should other animals be different?

Im not a fan of hunting either, but when it comes to feral animals, a yes dear are feral, I have no issues.

Yes you can argue that its inhuman and they suffer. But in times drought such as we have now these animals compete for food with our native marsupials. This can result in the suffering of our native animals.

Better to get rid off the animals that don’t belong here I say.

You know 20 years ago i may have argued the point with you Menace, but one night around 18 yrs ago I was sickened by a group of “shooters” behaviour towards our fellow critters that ended with my fellow fox tracker/pelter (the two of us had come across these mongrels by chance) leaving the scene and me having 7 guns pointed in my direction by these dickheads. Keeping my wits and not responding the way they anticipated stopped it from being any worse, but the very next day I advertised all my guns and handed in my licence, and I told the local Sargeant why.

Never again, and very few people need to.

if you could not shoot a dear why would you join the raaf you might get shot at what you not going to shoot back :side: .tell me a more humane way to get rid of vermin batings the most cruel way for an animal to die and traps are not very nice ether but it has to be done.i also am not a vegitarion kill a sheep or a fox whats the difference except sheep tasts okay :side:

I find it incredible that in 2010 you can go out into the bush and shoot animals whether feral or not. Some may die, some may run away injured and slowly die but surely we have evolved beyond this. If the kill is to feed your tribe and the skin is to wear then I get it but if it for recreation it is fucking sick! If there was a form of catch and release or laser simulation then fine but there is not. It is bloody and it is cruel.
The hunters out there will say that I grew up in the city and do not understand the damage feral animals cause but I feel as strongly about this as I do beacuse as a kid my dad took me hunting. I competed in rifle ranges and was a good shot and as much as I enjoyed everything me and my Dad did together I wish I could erase the memory of watching animals drop through my sights.
If it is feral it is beacuse we introduced it and it is up to us to find an effective and humane way to solve the problem we started in the first place. The animals did not ask to come here and they sure as hell do not deserve to be mortaly injured and die slowly.

Fes makes a really good point. It may be some trail debris or an unseen branch but either way I hope buddy makes it ok and recovers quickly.
