Does anyone know where I can get a manual for a 99 RMX250 they seem to be a hard thing to come by. If anyone has a copy would they be a ble to give me some info on the forks and oil levels. thanks

Post the request up on the Tekniks Suspension thread (look under the Old Bull Forum tab at top of page) and Evil Ruddy will get an answer for you.

Demasi, I looked this up recently and the info I got was 639ml per leg. That should get you in the ball park and can play with oil height to suit.

yep that sounds about right, off the top of my head I think its about 110 mm from the top of the fork leg with springs removed.

Thanks ill take them apart when I get some spare time and re fill them with oil. One has a weepy seal and has leaked some oil, resulting in one shock being softer which is interesting over big woops when the bike wants to turn one way. Any suggestions on how to change the seals? I havn’t needed to change them before are they hard?

No they are very easy if you havnt done it before, I would google it on you tube to get an idea or get onto Technics July specials. The standard springs are .41’s from memory and are way to soft for most average built Aussies ( im 92 kg’s and have .46’s fitted)

Finally got around to doing the forks, (HSC over at last), how do you get the inner fork tube out as the bottom nut spins with the inside? I have seen it done with a rattle gun is this a good solution?

Sorry for bringing this post back from the dead, I have been doing so much stuff for school but have now finished, so all my days are spent on bike stuff

    Thanks again for the help
