SOLO RIDE ROBO67 AT THE BONG

Well have to say riding by yourself does have advantages..
Woke this morning at leisurely 6.45am cup of coffee for my self and the missus generaly took my time about things everything was already loaded so no drama’s there, contemplated going to the markets with the lady..
But decided it was just too cold have another coffee and head to the bong about 8.00am sounded the goods…
drive down was a good one hardly any traffic and was there and geared up by9.05am.. after a 10 minute chat with ken at the farmhouse to get the run down on what’s been going on down there….
p.s bow he wants you to keep him any old chains and bike bits from the shop that your throwing out god knows why but thats ken….
    MORNING LOOP
So all that out of the way time to ride, decided I would head straight onto the southern loop as I was there later than most other times, usually ride it in the afternoon give it a chance to catch some sun….
Straight down the main trail to G.M.T…
Well some clown in his wisdom has dozed it and man is that sucker slippery for the red clay top half..Missed the first left turn because it is that overgrown realized this when coming to a sliding halt at the wire fence. Only stuff up with the mind gps for the day nine months since I have been there so reckon I can be excused that one….
Well G.M.T is as awesome as ever I reckon very slippery all the way,a little more technical now with it being more closed in,some really serious ruts and a few more logs ….
Well was all but to the hole of death when I could hear some bikes down there plenty of revs happening deep ruts and slippery like every where else…
So had a meet and greet with these lads and a little chat about the track ahead and it’s condition.. Wisely after I had explained what it was like they decided to head up hughes rd and follow the main trail to the northern end of G.M.T and then come back along it from the northern end as it is a lot easier to ride north to south…
Decided I would make my way back to the northern end with them as far as the entry point of G.M.T, via the lookout…..
Then keep heading north having a few looks at the other side trails on the way back to the car for lunch…..
    AFTERNOON LOOP
Decided with it being so wet to cut out Coley’s Boghole and head south on the main trail then up onto the ridge turning north and linking back onto the wall ride track…..
Fruck me if there is not a thousand logs across the wall ride track but all good either go round or over what ever is your pleasure…….think I may have found the bong hillclimb for you nuts…..
will get bow to check it out one day, me not being a great fan of cutting in a natural terrain hillclimb….would probably still be there…….
This brought me onto the telecom track more logs same deal over or round no drama’s,looped around on the telecom track as far as the rollercoaster did the new short version it sucks will only be the long one for me thanks….
Back to the main trail and took the eastern track to the ridge back down to the car and that’s all folks…..
In the past these 2 loops normally average about 50 klms each so about the same again today 100klms give or take blah blah……….

HAD A BLAST AND CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK…….PICS LATER STRANGE ONE’S
