Id like to set myself up better for weekends away than the current swag under a tarp or sleeping in the back of the Nissan.
I have been trying to work out a way to use my current 8×5 tandem trailer to cart the bike and use as a a base for a camping set up but not really getting anywhere. the roof top tents look ok but are not that big and trying to get in or out after a day of riding and a night of drinking may become problematic.
Does any one have any easy quick but worthwhile camping set ups that would work for bike camping trips?PS room for a goat would be handy
December 11, 2014 at 10:17 pm #260590Check out this site out Snowy http://www.extrememotos.com.au/MotorbikeCamperTrailer.html would not be to hard to make up for your trailer
December 12, 2014 at 3:17 am #260597You could put a frame with a canvas tarp on the trailer tall enough to still fit the bikes with a foam matress rolled up out of the way or an air bed. That would probably be a cheap option.

pleased to see you do it in style 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆December 12, 2014 at 9:01 am #260602Hey Snowman those rooftop tents are big enough for you & a goat. A bike weekend would only have you in it so a really good size. Getting in drunk, you don’t get drunk  5minute setup & pack up.
Would be a good setup if it wasn’t too high. The only other options you have is
a tent on the ground with air bed or swag
Gabbezo like mine ( still a tent on the ground ) which is good for a group.
or just swag under roof aweingBoze
December 12, 2014 at 9:54 am #260603The roof top tents are the second choice to teds idea so far. Im still not convinced on any of the options so far,the ones I like are too bloody expensive and the ones I can afford are shit.
If I cant find anything else I think i replace the tarp with a pop up tent like yours and maybe lash out on a thick self inflating matress for the swag.
I can beat the cold by using Bolls idea of packing a furry goat for the swag.
December 12, 2014 at 10:25 am #260592A piece of corrugated iron over a shopping trolley would suit you snowy. Your goat can sit in that top bit where kids sit.
Bol :woohoo:December 12, 2014 at 10:57 am #260605Yeh teds idea with a roof top tent. It would also have storage up there to carry mates swag

I also got a 30 second Oz tent. Goes up in 30 seconds & takes 3 mins to peg it down :laugh:December 12, 2014 at 6:25 pm #260593snowy check the web site four wheel drive supacenter
December 12, 2014 at 7:29 pm #260608Just stay at home .
December 12, 2014 at 8:09 pm #260594Hey snow you should try sleeping on the ground in your swag with bread all around you to attract fury animals that you could “play” with. Even the most gay late sippers slum it in conditions like this on the ground. You are letting us down in public mate as trail riders are supposed to be the stronger race, right? :pinch: :silly:
December 12, 2014 at 9:31 pm #260609Snowy dude….. the best tightass set up I have seen is get a single wrought iron bed frame and set your swag on top of that……. Snake has one and the advantages are, the swags off the ground and easier to get in and out and cheap and the added bonus that you can tie up your goat to it and it wont escape
