any husky owners had a hot start issue with TE510 / 450, 08 models

Have worked through electrics (wires and connectors), maps, dash, turn it off or stall and it will not fire again,
let sit for 10 mins and it starts fine,
I have been able to get it to start if you sort of double/triple hit the starterbutoon, and it starts and runs like a dream
battery is 3 years old, always lived on charger,
voltage drops (at battery) to 10.5 ish when turning over, runs 14.2 when reving
    13 ish when standing

any ideas please guys and girls.

Do they have the hot start button Crancky, I seem to remember Huskybloke always needed to use his when it stalled. The red knob next to the choke, on the bike that is, not Huskybloke :D :D :D

    crancky1,
i just bought a 08 510 and as the battery was stuffed put a new Shorai battery in it occasionally have to use the decomp lever to fire it regardless of charge as battery was new. It was a similar thing to how you describe hitting the switch a few times to get it to fire. This battery is rated at 220cca way higher than a stocker and occasionally still needs the de-comp to turn it.Could try kicking it around to TDC and then hit the button.

thanks guys, the issue isn’t topdead centre problem, or decomp.
the engine turns over quickly and strongly,
just refuses to fire. when hot,

was wondering if relays may loose their switching properties if old and heat effected,

Thanks 2 banger, i spent days trawlling though cafe husky, must have got a bit weed blind,
temp sensor looks like a definate culprit.

Temp. sensor…had a similar issue with my old 08 450, $30-$40 for a new one if memory serves me correctly.

Had a yarn to R and D, they think it may be a decomp issue, bit of wear in the mechanism.

bike has done 7000k’s (all bush bashing)

    Update:
had a good ride today , but , still very difficult to hot start:

    pulled her apart tonight,
the start circuit relay has a wear mark from rubbing on frame / tank, and a little hole in case, this seems to be letting water and dust in,
replaced it and it now primes much better.
some thing for others to check !
i’ve got to do the valves as well, reckon that will bring some better starting
    keep updating as I go.
