Hi Ollie
What micron are they??
Whats the go with cleaning??August 6, 2008 at 5:25 am #106155Gyday Bana, They filter down to 35 Micron and provide at least 200% improvement in oil flow.Cleaning is easy, just a quick rinse in kero or petrol, then give it a blast with some compressed air (if you have it)from the inside out,a smidge of clean engine oil on the seals then whack it back in.No problems
PS XR and KLX/KX450 filters are going out the door pretty fast! Mick and Chris yours are safe:laugh:

I got mine in the post today and a thing of beauty it is too. Packed small enough so I didn’t have to collect it from the post office but padded well enough that nothing was going to damage it. Very happy.August 7, 2008 at 5:32 am #106236make it happen Ollie

AnonymousFunny you wrote that mate as I was just about to say I’d take one off you for the KTM. I’m a little dubious about them, but was going to give it a go and support an OBT memeber.
Now I know that you are racist against KTM and Husaberg owners I will hang with TB on Saturday instead :p Actually, TB is racist against the both too. Maybe I’ll just stand in my own corner
October 23, 2008 at 3:20 am #110219Moto Im not racist against KTM I have two of the pumpkins in my garage! and I love them, I can get the stainless ones for the ktm but it would be around the $100 dollar mark each:angry:
As a fellow engineer, you would realise that all of the good hydraulic systems that must be kept scrupuously clean use stainless steel filters, manufacturers use paper filters as OEM because they are cheap and cant be reused so you have to buy more, thats the simple truth.ollieB)

AnonymousActually most of super fine fluid filtering for fuel and machine gear oil at the petrochem plants use replaceable fibre units
This is because they do a better job and cost is not the driving factor.
When I get some more pennies I will take one off you though. My bike only has 1 filter, unlike the preceeding models which have two
