So the great tyre debate continues.

I am in need of a new front tyre to steer the mighty DRZ, the tyre I have now is a Kenda Millville which I have been very happy with but there seems to be alot of support for the Michelin S12.

I went to get one the other day and they had none in staock and were going to order one in for me. Today they ring me back and can’t get any at the moment but do have the M12 in stock.

Soooo,,,,, how does the M12 compare to the S12 or even the Millville for grip in all terrains and also for wear?

I used M12 for years on the front and never had a grip issue I used to average about 2500kms out of one on a XR600, The M12 will wear better ever day of the week and do every bit as good a job in all terrain where in hard pack an S12 will chip the outer knobs

If you ring Mal at Sutto’s and tell him I recommended a IRC front the same as Greg from Old Bulls runs I think you will purchase one for under $90 or tell him they are $90. I will pick it up with your grip heaters and Dan will bring it home for you. I have had one on now for nearly 800kms and have had no drama and rate it highly, if it wears as well as a Michelin I will be using them as tyre of choice for the future. Moto bought one, Micknmeld runs one and was impressed in all the terrain and conditions we rode up there the other weekend

I’m sure someone hear can give you a better review than me but I thought the M12 was more of a compromise for better wear than the s12. I think for regular riding they seem to be the go since the s12 is great but wears fast especially if you spend any time on the black top.
