    Hail Glorious Suspension Gurus B)

I have a bit of a dilemma, the 2011 TE310 has a Sachs shock which is put down in most forums. The 2012 TE310 will arrive with a Kabaya shock. Thems the facts, now the dilemma, the 2011 is in run out mode with $1100 off, should I wait for the 2012 or use some of the $1100 to get the Sachs up to speed? Can the Sachs be brought up to speed?
I suspect that both sets of suspension will benefit from some sort of valving therapy so the answer won’t be simple, anyway, I’d appreciate any advice I can get !
[Teknik will of course get the gurnsey to perform said upgrade] ;)
[Haven’t been for a ride for about 4 months now, getting desparate, might make the wrong decision based on lack of riding without some sensible input into the arguement ]

    Cheers :)

Sorry to hear about your shoulder Huskybloke, I wanted to post it here to get Tekniks opinion ’cause either way, they’ll get the bike (as soon as I get the suspension bedded in) for a revalve so best to seek thier opinion up front.
Don’t worry, I’ll be well and truly up for a ride by the time your over the shoulder :)

Hey Husky Bloke just got back from Tekniks after dropping off the rear Sachs shock for the Gasgas. Mark (evil Rudy) went right through it with me and described how and what would be done.Basicly he said the shock was good but with some minor short comings which will be resolved totally for under $500. This includes a new damper valve and bladder arrangement. so by getting the 2011 you should be able to get your fronts done as well and have a superior suspension setup.

oops  sorry mate  Kayaba were on my sons KX250F and they were excellent. I think the RMX has Kayaba as well and they have had the Teknic treatment as well and cant really fault them.

For what its worth… Sachs is German for Marzocchi, and Marzocchi is Italian for Shite! AND the 2011 310 has both!

But… here lies the rub… great motor and for the money you save you can have a full upgrade and set up just for you including valving kits (which both front and rear need!), piston kits and springs depending on your weight, and if you do it now you can save 20% from us. I think you’ll do better that the $1100 off if you are ruthless and willing to travel or freight a bike from out of state. Just start ringing Husky dealers and find out who has too many, then put their nuts in a squirrel grip. You’ll do better negotiating for things like bash plates, hand guards and radiator guards thrown in that straight up dollars… I work on single malt commission *wink*nudge*.

The Sachs is no better or worse than the KYB rear end, but the piston to body interface lets it down and under high stress or heat and lets oil flow past the piston instead of through it because of its design. Just about everyone’s piston kit fixes it. The sliding gas piston doesn’t help either. Slow to react on soft / small bumps, our bladder replacement makes it sweet as a nut.

Funny thing is this… our most popular fork kit is for the KYBs on all WR-F because the internals go to shite in 10-15 hours. These are the same forks as the Husky is getting (and has gotten on the 449/511 this year). Guess what will continue to be our most popular fork kit… for Huskys too.

    Love and cuddles,
    ER

Best I could find is $10395 (in NSW) http://www.bikesales.com.au/all-bikes/bnbis/details.aspx?Cr=10&R=9690546&keywords=&trecs=16&__sid=13019C5FFB4F&__Ns=p_IsPoa_Int32|0||p_RankSort_Int32|1||p_HasPhotos_Int32|1||p_Make_String|0||p_Model_String|0||p_YearMade_Int32|1||p_PriceSort_Decimal|1||p_PhotoCount_Int32|1&__Qpb=1&__Nne=15&__No=0&seot=1&__N=1432%20604%201430%201429%201626%204294967218%204294964560&silo=1400

Thanks Evil Ruddy, I’m way across the bargaining bit B) , just want to make sure I don’t end up with a shock that can’t be brought up to he same standard as the Kabaya.
Yeh, I’m not sure where Husky has headed in the last few years, I can remember Ollins rear ends on them and now we have (as you so correctly put it) Shite. But if you guys are confident you can make them work, the bikes bargain price means I’ll be riding earlier!! :woohoo:
Thanks for all your help Evil, the love in the room has me feeling the need to lay down some newspaper
Thanks Ollie and HuskyBloke, I’m off for a test ride! :woohoo:

Did that once playing squash, yeh I know completely G@y, any way I was about 20 years younger than I am now and it hurt like shite then :pinch: , hate to think how it would feel now!! :S
I didn’t mind the TE310 Ollie, bit slower but I’m getting on in years now (48 in Sept  ) and even though it hurts real bad not to have a bike that can shred me to bits in the first 2km of trail ( and anyone else within roostin’ distance of the rear tyre B) ) I recon I’ll still get thru the tears well enough to enjoy the Lil’ Husky, won’t miss the weight that’s for sure, probably agree on a price early next week and pick up next weekend.
Good luck with the rib mate,
    Cheers

Well the TE310 is run in now, been bashed around the Watagans, Wallaroo and Dungog a few times now.
Suspension off this weekend and down to Dr Nik and Evil Ruddy.
    Key points:
[li]500km on bike, chenged to 2.5wgt in fork otherwise stock apart from sag and clickers adjustment, the change in oil wgt helped but didn’t solve all problems
    [/li]
[li]Front end washes out due to damping to stiff in middle of travel
    [/li]
[li]Front end goes metal to metal over decent erosion mounds
    [/li]
[li]Wound clickers out to soften damping and now the intial travel is mushy
    [/li]
[li]I’m a complete short ar$e and need a lower seat height (as long as geometry ain’t impacted too much)

Feedback following magic wizard work from Teknik to follow.

(i’ve editied this about 5 times nowall other stuff ups can stay in the text f it!!)

    Cheers

OK Feedback, Teknik were real helpful and client focussed, called me twice during the suspension mod works.
    Results
Bike now sits better (ie higher) in stroke
25mm lower sticks in ruts more than i expected, serves me right for riding rutted out Watagans, gotto get out more …
    more compliant
clickers make more a significant change than before, I mean you can get reasonable adjustment wihtout going 10 clicks each way
Bike is a lot nicer to ride, more suple and yet takes bigger hits much better

I still crash heaps so dont modify the suspension and think that will help that little problem!! :)

All in all, recommend the changes over stock to anyone who takes thier ride seriously B)
