Santa was a little late this year but seeing what he brought I wont complain.
Gopro Hero 3 Black Edition.
Time to organise a ride.
December 31, 2012 at 12:45 am #234766Wicked, mines only a week away actually and I cant wait :woohoo: Look forward to your thoughts on it. Why the change I thought you were happy with the liquid image camera you had?

December 31, 2012 at 1:11 am #234767Still happy with the liquid image but having more than one camera will make life easier some times. The liquid image will also be the stunt camera. Its cheap so not so devistating if it gets damaged doing stupid stuff. The remot for the Gopro was also a selling point.
December 31, 2012 at 5:15 am #234776Nice work Scotty,we have the previous model and find it has a brilliant clear video and awesome sound pick up.
Just a tip,we run ours on the side of our helmet, but also run a small lanyard around the camera mount and back through the helmet strap for peace of mind if you get a big hit from a tree branch.
Having said that,it has never moved.
Have fun with it mate.

Does it come with bar mount or something similar for easy use or lanyard only?
January 1, 2013 at 2:38 am #234768Ace, if you can see in this photo the remote has strap slots in the back to use as mounting points. I have a Velco strap I will use to mount to the bar pad
The remote is quit trick. The screen is exactly the same as the one on the camera and you can go though all menu and change all setting the same as you would one the camera.

Check the specs here
I am itching for mine, should be here in a few days :pinch:
You used it yet Scott?

January 1, 2013 at 4:40 am #234769Only had a quick spin around the neighbourhood, too f’ing hot outside. I took some vid at 1080/60fps and 720/120fps I’m playing around with now. IQ looks awesome, much more natural colours than the Liquid Image which tends too oversaturate colours a bit. I managed to find a some shady trees with the sun coming through and the light metering handled the contrast well.
I plan on using it for more than just riding. If it cools down outside at all this arvo I might take a wander down the river with a few beers and play with the some time lapse photography.
Not sure if there is already a thread TB (To lazy too search) but maybe a Gopro tips and tricks thread might be handy.
January 1, 2013 at 5:50 am #234770Is $339.00 delivered a good price for a GoPro hero 3?

Do you have a link?

January 1, 2013 at 6:00 am #234827Was yours from the States Scotty? Are you willing to share how much if you dont mind?

January 1, 2013 at 6:00 am #234771It’s a silver
January 1, 2013 at 6:23 am #234772Western Motorcyles. $489. I was going to wait till the camera store I normally get gear from had stock. They had the black listed for $460 but I rang them and they were not getting stock till late January. I’m not that patient.
Aido, the silver will still be a good thing but there is not a huge saving if you want the remote as the Silver doesn’t come with the remote and it cost $99 to buy on its own. I like the remote a lot already. Just riding around the block I was able to turn the camera on, change modes and start and stop the camera all without stopping.
January 1, 2013 at 6:47 am #234829Gotta love the remote, thingy. :woohoo:
Have a mate that rides a Teneree 1200.
He was looking for a cam that had a remote on/off
I shall let him know about this new product.
Definetely cuts down on editing time, no doubt.
Still doubt that I will venture into the world of youtube
As the veiw from the the helmet cam shows nothing but horizonatl shit, even if your hitting up some severe uphill/rocks.
Hey
BTW Happiest of New Years to all of you sad westies.
Still surfin
