Well , A fantastic Saturday morning for a leisurely ride, Pauly (loco07) and I set out from ( Letter A ) looking for some single tracks and maybe looking to venture out and make some new discoveries !
It didn’t take long to get ourselves into the thick of things, with GPS’s on hand we set out along some deserted tracks ” down a mountain, I might add “
With the confidence of the GPS we pushed forward climbing obsticles and skiding down enbankments looking for that track in the not too distant ( gps map ) location…..
Well . This is where things start to get interesting, WE WERE NOW OFFICIALLY STUCK !!!!!
Stuck in a deep gully , we found the track ( A WALKING TRACK ) Pushed through for hours with no where to go , no grip, no more energy and daylight fading !
Starting to get a little dark now ( 8 kms from the car ) we ditched the bikes, plotted their location and started climbing 800 meters straight up to the nearest 4×4 track.
IT WAS A TOUGH WALK …had to stop every 50 meters or so for a sit down , the boots were killing our feet.
We walked 4.5 kms anlong the 4×4 track towards the car, — where out of no where a camper came riding a pewee up to the top of the mountain we were now at. He was there trying to get phone reception.
Chriss was his name, He was awesome , he rode back to his camp at the other side and come back with his hilux . He helped us the other 3.5kms to our car, the guys a champ !!!
NEXT DAY – SUNDAY – we set off from Sydney again with ropes and ( recovery crew ) my day , brother and our mate Jimmy. they were priceless . Three at the front with the tow rope and Pauly at the back ( fish tail control ) and rear wheel steering .
It was really the first 30 meters at the base that was the deal breaker , the rest was pretty rideable.
seeings my brother does nothing for nothing, I had to cut up a trailer load of wood for him as payment , still it was worth it ( only joking Anthony if your reading ).
All in all it was a great adventure, there was a bit of down time off the bikes , but Pauly kept the mood alive , Did we learn anything from this – yes , Walking sucks !!!

Seb, what an adventure you guys had….glad it wasn’t me in that situation. I would have had trouble leaving my bike in the bush overnight. The worry of that, would have been killing me all night. Well done on the retrieval of your bikes.
