Well Gmac posted up a ride and there was only one taker  me
We decided on the Watties for an explore as we have seen a fair bit of Ourimbah lately.
We headed to Maculata to do a loop before it got too hot
all was going well till we started the steps down to the bog hole.
I stopped to move a branch and as I moved to get the branch I bumped the throttle and the bike took off with me sitting on it but not hanging on to it
Well I ended up with a busted headlight and pride  and the bike hanging upside down, down the steps

Somehow managed to rip the horn off
After that things flowed a little better and we headed down Duffy’s then North to the mesh track where we met a black snake (first for the season).
It was warming up so we headed back towards Whitemans Ridge where we did more singles and had an explore round there till we found an endure track that was built by a masochist :pinch:
We hardly did any of it and we’d had enough so back to the meet point for Gordon to load up and head home

Thanks Gordon for organizing and sweeping
Next time you can lead (it will save me money :pinch: )Got a couple of vids when I got the chance

In the interest of trying to be helpful, maybe it was just the sound recording, but on that last one it sounded like the throttle was being blipped quickly on the way up, causing the rear to break traction more and loose momentum. If you tried, a more constant, smoother application of throttle, i would like to think you might get all the way up.
Glad to see it looked like you guys had fun, we’ve spent the last 2 afternoons exploring Jenolan Caves state forest, there is some cracker trails out there.
October 13, 2013 at 6:21 am #250645Looks like you guyes had a bit of fun out there on those hills,,,,have to watch that recluse clutch there Adam,,,remember the bike is in gear

Have to catch up before it gets too hot to ride,, for an old bloke

The Southend is a bit hard for these extreme temps though
Still, wished I could of made it.
Tim and I know some good challenges down that way.

October 13, 2013 at 8:00 am #250646Looks good fellas ,
Would like to get down there and ride that some timeOctober 13, 2013 at 1:20 pm #250647Thanks Adam, good day plenty to see , plenty to do . The wire track , new climbs and new loop all good, need to get a gopro though. Your dismount would have made interesting viewing. It was your elbows fault.. as you were bending down it made contact with the loud switch and your bike shot out, exit stage left, this left you laying across the top of it , very surprised. I didn’t follow your line on this one. :woohoo:
Next time I’ll bring the map.
Ps if I lead. You follow at your own peril.
Cheers Gordon -
