    G,day OBT,
Has any one used the Scott double lens’s?
If so what did you reckon? just had some fog issues ive never really had before with the desert storms, was thinking the tighter foam might have had something to do with it.

    cheers

i use pro grip ,anti fog anti scratch ,there a single lense ,i have been using these for 3 years now.
the dual scott lense, the inside lense isnt scratch free ,so if you do get some dirt, mud on it and you wipe it it will scratch

So is that 1 or 2 rides Dave?

I use Oakley Crowbar’s and they are a goog goggle, very comfortable. However, they do fog and the lenses do scratch so I would be keen to try any goggle that eliminates (or at least reduces) those issues.

Well I have HUGE problems with goggle fog, so I just called Ballards about some OTG (Over The Glasses) twin-lens anti-fog goggles. Scotts were his recommendation. I have ordered a set and will let you know how they go at my Harveys ride this long weekend.B)

I have tried all the usual solutions including Rain-x, Mr Sheen and anti-fog single lenses but no joy – and I’m sick of it! I hope these buggers work Rat and if they do I’m shouting you a beer or three!:)

Haven’t worn goggles for normal trail rides for years. So many times they’re hung off the end of the bar because they’re all fogged up.

Wraparound industrial safety glasses are the go. If they fog they clear in seconds. For very dusty rides I use goggles, but dust and fog generally don’t happen together.

Not much good for people with specs though.

I wear specs too and tried the double lenses, pretty good but didn’t last all that long until the foam seal broke down and water got inbetween, once that happens they’re stuffed.
When it’s foggy I use industrial safety glasses over my glasses, they have good ventilation so they clear up in seconds

If the foam seal breaks down, can it be repaired with silastic or something similar? I guess they are $26 for the lens so it isn’t the end of the world.

One thing I insist on is clear vision when riding. I hate dirty goggles (or glasses)!

Chris, if you want dust and fog at the same time, come for a ride with me out this way sometime! It is not uncommon! (Also not pleasant!)

I’ve currently got Oakley crowbars, Oakleys “O” frames and Thor Allys, all great googles in the dry or mild cool weather. But because I only have one functioning eye (YEAH, YEAH so I am one eyed literally and figuratively as well) I must have good clear vision, but in damp or cold clear good quality saftey specs can’t be beat, have never found a google that doesn’t fog to some degree or another, double lense is not new, been around for years now in one form or another, unfortunately when moisture gets between the layers you may as well pack up and go home.

Just my experience maybe there is a new improved double lense, and Scott used to make a great google, but fell down for a while, but maybe have picked up again, so why not now.

I’d rather get some decent goggles that do the job than safety glasses if at all possible. Glasses don’t protect your face from roost, tree braches and lantana like goggles do. My goggles have taken some BIG hits. That said, if you can’t see out of them and can’t ride they are useless :(

    Thanks for the advice OBT’s
Im sold, the double lens sounds like the go, then the rain will go away.
Think i’ll chuck in the safety galsses in the back pack too.Don;t like riding with nothing at all, did that at last years Sunny Corner mud fest and picked dirt out of my eye a day later.
My last set where oakley crowbars and cant remember fogging to bad, but this set is the desert storm with the tighter foam compound might not help.

Yeah no joke, how bad was Sunny Corner last year?? Dead-set shocker! Nearly enough to turn me off the whole thing actually!

My goggles fogged and I ran out of clean dry rags, so they went in the backpack, then the glasses fogged and were beyond usable… I’ve been annoyed by the goggle problem for a while now, so I hope this sorts it out for me.

Three words Moto- Nose protector insert.

and you can get some fairly big clear safety glasses too, I have a few sets (courtesy of reps:P ) that will do the trick well, and being high impact lexcen and the likes won’t shatter or alllow anything into your eyes.
