I have also used scott goggles for many years, especially skiing. the double lens works a treat, comfortable frame, looks ok! Ive got Oakley gogs at the moment but will be definately be going back to Scott.
I still have an old pair from when i was about 10 years old!

Just an update on the ongoing saga that is ECKS-Man and his goggles…

I have tried the Scott twin-lens and to be honest I don’t find them any better than the Scott Anti-fog lens. The problem is that I get quite hot when I ride, and in slow conditions there is not enough air flow to keep the condensation away from the goggle lens, and if I get hot enough and the going is slow enough, then my glasses go too.

I also found with the twin lens system that there is a fairly thick border around the edge of the lens where the two lenses join. Add that to the OTG goggles and it noticeable restricts the field of vision.

So no beers for Rat, sorry dude!

And I’m still searching for the solution. Its a bugger being half-blind!

Next, I’m off to my optometrist to see if there is a spray or coating for anti-glare glasses lenses to stop fogging. Surely someone somewhere has this sorted out!

No mate, my prescription is not suited to contacts. I have great vision with my glasses on, better than a lot of folks without, but my optometrist tells me that contacts would not be as good and I won’t compromise.

I think there has to be a product that can stop glasses fogging, without damaging the anti-glare coating. It is just a matter of tracking it down. The goggles themselves are not such a huge problem, the glasses really are!

Well I used Scott’s twin lens system for the first time on Saturday with Mal and Crash, it was a wet sort of ride with lots of sweating, slow moving and stopping. For the first time ever in my 37 years of riding I could stop and sit with my goggles on instead of having to whip them straight of when stopped, I had no ride fogging I found them nothing short of incredible as I have always suffered google fogging

All that said I cant help but feel ECKS the glasses are causing your problem not the goggles so it would be hard to say the goggles are no good, even your last line says that?

To be fair TB, the rides I have used the twin lens system were not wet or foggy, so I guess there is a good chance that they have yet to be truly tested. But you should try anti-fog if you haven’t done so yet. They work bloody well and don’t have the problems of the twin lens goggles.

But, as I said, the problem is not really the goggles but more the glasses. Since I went to anti-fog and twin lens systems the goggles have been as good as I think could be expected.

My double lenses have pulled apart at the lense and at the foam and they’re only about 8 rides old. Always hand wash them in warm water only and I think I’ve been pretty kind to them but the quality just seems poor to me though everyone else that wears them swears by them!? I’ll be trying something different next that’s for certain.

Ok can someone explain the double lens system..
I just use normal scott goggles with the mita sheen treatment but they still fog in the forest around nundle, they normally end up in the back pack and i wearthe safety glasses i carry.I am on the market for some that apparently dont fog???if there is such a system.

I looked at these recently but they were available at the time so I went with new Spy goggles which I’m told have great air flow to help fogging. I don’t believe the sales spiel but will test for myself. If they are any good I’ll let you all know :)

Mine are fog free about 200 metres from when you stop however them first 200 metres can be a bit howyagoing..They only have thin foam and look like the air should flow through them easy. i spose the secret is dont stop and you dont fog,Mmmmm

I blew the Mr sheen trumpet a while ago but I am rethinking its antifog capabilities, good for water beading in the rain but not that flash for fogging,Cmon you mexicons this should be right up your alley what with snow in summer and all that.

Hey ECKS. Have been tested to see if your a candidate for laser eye surgery? Works well, my partner had it done and she has eyes slightly better than mine now and I have a good set apparently.

On topic. I’ve used double lenses for most of my riding years and love them. I sweat at the thought of pyshical activity and the single lense would turn into a water trap. I tried the rain X anti fog solution once and it was like opening your eyes underwater when I started to sweat as it would attach itself to the solution.
