Using a proven pivot design, the Scott Speed Strap is easy to use and provides a secure, durable attachment to the helmet. Because the Speed Strap is built from soft parts, it will mount to any helmet regardless its curvature. Additionally, it features on-the-fly strap tension adjustment.
This is the best rapid attachment system on the market.Retail for $44.95 Sutto’s have 20 sets in stock and for OBT members they will do 20%off until there gone..
Only available in black at the moment.

July 15, 2009 at 4:14 am #143826Thanks Sutto’s and Old Bulls hierachy, I’ve been contemplating a set for a while, but couldn’t justify the price, so when T/B put this up, had a spare note in my wallet mocking me, Rang Jarrod, he was ever so helpful, went to the bank, deposited the amount with postage, and the deal is sealed.

July 15, 2009 at 5:53 am #143830I’m sure the blokes that designed this are smarter blokes than I have but can I ask, isn’t there a bit of risk that the steel buckle could act as a point/concentrated load and punch through your helmet if you fall? Are the velcro attachment speed straps no good?

Maybe but it would have to fall on a rock or something that would probalby punch through it anyway
Are the velcro attachment speed straps no good? What happens with Velcro and mud / dirt when you are tearing on and of all the time, it fills with mud and stops working, this way the clips are Velcro attached once and thats its sort of thing or thats the way I see it

I really dont know but!Quote:TBJuly 15, 2009 at 6:21 am #143834My old nava full face had press studs on it from the factory, and i bashed it hard enough to rupture the sack of fluid at the front of my brain and break my skull, but the press studs never nmoved, though the attachments (peak etc) ripped out.
So I’d say it’s been figured as part of the teting regime’ where they drop a pointed weight onto the helmet to ensure piercing is not an issue under AS/NZ 1698 2006-’07, as I know it was under the older standard.

suttos.spares@gmail.comHey the $35.96 plus a couple of bucks mail
July 15, 2009 at 7:51 am #143864Ok, I will ask the dumb question, what are they for?
July 15, 2009 at 7:55 am #143819Hangin` ya goggles from the helmet, rather than a full strap around the helmet:P

like I said, been tetering on the edge of buying some again for a while, this just pushed me to
July 15, 2009 at 9:00 am #143870Yeah Blue I will pick up a pair when I get back home, I have been thinking about a pair for ages, when you pull up at an intersection etc it would be quick and easy, when you have a helmet cam on to top of your helmet etc and when they start to fog and you dont want to stop you can flick they of and let them hang with one hand

Has anyone got a photo of how they look/fit/work ?
July 16, 2009 at 1:27 am #143883I hope its ok that I post this being that its not the same product but show’s the concept. I couldn’t find a pic of the scott system on a helmet.
Jak and Jeffro,
what you can see here would be different in that the attachment would be the buckle rather than the velcro but the concept remains that you can just unclip one side and let the goggles hang off the other side rather than completely removing them or putting them around your neck when you want to take a break from them.
