So on the way back from QLD yesterday I took the opportunity to check out the Lyon’s road on the way from Beaudesert to Kyogle. I quite often search things out in the car, track entrances, exits links for rides etc its how you get the ride knowledge for all areas before you go there. Now normally when I go this way I go over Mt Lindesay which is a fun road bike road and fun in the car, although pretty bumpy on the QLD border side.
KTM01 (Ray) has been telling about the Lyon’s rd for sometime and raving about it and the fact that is 30 kms shorter. So when I spotted the turn of I wheeled the coon down for a run. I must say from the start it’s a very narrow road in spots and bumpy as well in other places. It has over 23 creek crossing, most are rough little bridges. It has cattle grids, unfenced sections and some beautiful scenery as it twists its way through the valleys with the railway line most of the time.
Now I thought that this thread could go in the motard forum or here in the adventure forum as it would suit both.

I now have on my list I must rides, more then likely when I ride from Sydney to Brisbane on an adventure ride. Most of the creek crossings / bridges have spots which would be good for an overnight camp.
This is now wetting my appetite for some adventure riding
