AnonymousHoney, I demotarded the nx
With the 21 inch wheel that tb gave me, I went and bought some dunlops k805s.
As you can see, the motard wheel is a little smaller and smoother
Not much change in basic dimensions for the rear.
I then took the bike down to Hillsborough quarry. If you have seen terrafirma III, you have seen his quarry. It is nothing like it was back then, but still has the odd berm and jump.
The power line track along side was desert racing type stuff. Heaps of fun, but the suspension was too soft for it’s weight. The new wheel and tyres were awesome. Straight away the bike felt 100 times better with trail tyres.
I did a heap of laps around the quarry, even doing some little whips over the corner table top. The spare fuel cans bailed out over one of the other table tops, so I emptied them into the fuel tank.
Some local school kids thought it was awesome watching a touring bike cutting sic around the mx track.
I did a little bit of the st special test track. Heaps good, but must keep your toes up.
I thought that I would have to lower the triple clamps with the bigger wheel. But I found that it steers well as is. It even changes gears better on the tar.
The front brake is weaker with the larger wheel though
Over all very impressed.
It will be hard deciding which bike to take to denmen now
March 16, 2009 at 7:26 am #126043Cheers on that Champo, I have been looking at the some T63 Michelin’s or some Pirelli MT21’s I cant find anything regarding those dunlops you bought sure they are 805s??
We did 220kms on the bike on Sunday, its did 161kms before it started coughing and I switched it to reserve and now has 178kms and made it home, so next time I fill it I will know how big the tank is

Hey Champo just went and filled the bike up, couldn’t have been a litre in it, it coughed when I rode into the servo and I struggled to get 10.47 litres in it????
