Hello everybody, had a good trip up to the cape with 3 others including Dennisjm and it got the blood running again. The DR performed exceptionally well and I have just made aluminium panniers to replace the waterproof bags that are waterproof because they don’t let water out and there will be many trips in line for the DR. When I got home I decided to get rid of my VTX1800 as we always use the wing, and went and ordered a R1200GS BMW. I had to go out of town so my wife went in to do the deal but the owner was out of town and we only deal with him direct so we had to wait and in the mean time I started reading all of the forums and was not impressed. So a decision had to be made which ended up with us ordering a Honda Transalp set up like the one in Trail Zone and I am sure that it will do the job.
An interesting part of this is that we rely on people contributing to the forums and having somewhere to get information that we can use.
By the way, I have just rebuilt a postie as well and added it to the shed.

Did you go via the CREB Track from Daintree? I was up that way a month ago and it was supposedly closed but people were still going along it and causing all sorts of strife.

You are right about forums too, you can pretty well guarantee that the opinions on a forum are fair dinkum as opposed to paid opinions in a Magazine.

Didn’t do the CREB track this time as I did it on my last trip. We were also told that it was closed.
