Your current WR will be a fair bit lighter than that even though it carries more fuel. 129kg will surely make the new WR the heaviest 450 on the market. It will also be interesting to see what the race teams do, I think most enduro teams at the moment are running the YZ. We’ll have to wait and see if they go for the WR or stick with the lighter YZ.
Yeh I’m not the least bit worried about the weight issue
apart from the 8 kg on my back at times that shits me occasionally ………………well thinking about it thats only when i get off my bike and walk so yeh it doesn’t worry me at allThe way i see it your on a bike if it feels a little heavy twist the throttle and hang on it will soon feel light again if you come unstuck and fall off , pick it up and start again admittedly on the side of some hills it can be a little difficult lifting anything at times but that is 99% to do with my legs not how heavy my bike is .
If your jumping the triples at the stadium it might be an issue ??129 kg is still probably lighter than my 4 wheeler or the old ag bike that i used to ride

If your that worried about it here’s a few weight saving tips
1) Borrow ev’s knobby knife and cut some knobs off your tyres
2)Cut all of the knobs off
3)go back to standard skinny arse pegs
4)Fillet a bit of foam out of your seat
5)Let some air out of your tyres
6)put a 5 amp fuse instead of a 10 amp
7) pull the battery out and use yor leg you lazy arse
8)only half fill it with Fuel (with all of the above weight gone you’ll use less anyway)
9)Pull all of that Bling useless shit off of it
10)Go back to a standard chain those o-rings weigh too much
11)buy white plastics so that they reflect the heat and sun and don’t absorb any UV rays
12)only put 900ml of oil in it instead of a litre
lucky no 13 Go on a F@#$%^& diet and lose 5kg
14)have 2 teaspoons of cement instead of one this will harden the liquids in your system a little more ,make sure its rapid set , stand up straight for 15 minutes you don’t want all the weight to slosh to one side and harden there you’ll be off balance and you’ll feel heavy then .
15) alright if you have to have a battery tip the water out:whistle: :pinch: :woohoo:

14. Lose two strokes. Four is too many.

2strokes pump too much air through the system and it weighs a substantial amount and you’ve got that big arse barracade out the side so there is a bit of an equilibrium there
just eat less Donuts Scotty you’ll be right

I was supposed to be twice as powerful as the standard one
But yeah it was light

February 27, 2012 at 11:38 pm #217192For $9000 I’d go with the 11. With the money saved you could get the suspension done , add a pipe, bash plate, rad guards and still get change from the price of the 12.

Yes agree they go flat different from a lead battery, die fast once they drop to around 12v or thereabouts. Not good if you dont have battery less efi.

Yeah I bought a four stage charger required to keep it charged but it would go flat in 4 days with the small Garmin power convertor wired in where the lead acid lasts three weeks plus
But they are light and if you kept it on a charger and didnt have a real bad restartig day

16) no bash plate
17) no radiator guards
18) no barkbusters or grips
19) no front or rear brake levers (might as well take the discs and calipers off too, just use engine braking, keep the unsprung weight down like the pros)
20) 3 tooth front sprocket 20 tooth rear
21) Bobs specialty take all the bolts out and replace with a tiny dob of weld :laugh:February 28, 2012 at 10:18 am #217283Take off the clutch cable as well, it’l be broken anyway
