Hey King, did you have some playing cards rattling on your spokes so your bike sounded like a real motorbike?

February 26, 2012 at 9:01 pm #217075What a great weekend , I had a ball from the minute we met up at Spuds house on Friday afternoon. Rob400 was good enough to drive ( thanks mate ) and supply an Esky loaded with beer and ice, he couldn’t stop thinking about getting started on the beers for the whole 3 1/2 hour drive. We had a good laugh on the way down with Robs Hilux fully loaded and The Hobbit ( Spud
) jammed in the back.
We got to Micks and cracked a beer while setting up , it didn’t take long for the shed party to be in full swing and it was great to see Strucky………………… ( toes was their too )
After the boys finished doing last minute maintenance Lefty set up the scales for the bike weigh ins while TB kept me busy waffling some BS about a KTM and Toes loaded my airbox with sinkers. Bastards
After a heap of beer we hit the sack ready for a day of riding :woohoo:
Up bright and early and TB maxes us bacon and egg rolls before we hit the trails , Moose mainly sweeps with Mick leading and was a bit concerned he would struggle finding the trails. He didn’t ,
we had a great mix of singles , fast fire roads to cool off before more singles and some great hills. All was going well until DeJay binned it on a snooty downhill hurting his ribs , as he was sweep and I was last cornerman I waited for him at the bottom and when their was no DJ , Spud and I road back up to find him. As I pulled up he has bulldogging the Kato down finger hill and in a lot of pain.
The tough little bugger sucked it up and finished the ride !!I loved the hills Moose through at us and as with TB it was a buzz weaving around fallen riders on the last hill of the day and getting the 250 up 1st go

Wow, toes can defy the laws of physics,
Yes Scotty a typo
Glad you got a lot out of the report    Have you made detective yet

TB I actually believe Toes can defy the laws of physics. I seen some of the places he got his Vstrom at Bargo.
Mick, some cracking shots on the new Nikon. By the looks of the pics I’m going to say it’s a new Nikon D3100.

February 26, 2012 at 10:17 pm #217088Some randoms
Lefty and Deejay removed the Rekulse cover on his bike, I made a small adjustment to change the take up point for Deejay to try
Deejay was point to the roof for some reason
Chicken’s rebuild was completed with all the running gear rebuilt or replaced. In the back ground Mick if waffling on some shit no doubt as he has ol mate trapped in the corner
Toes (left) and Tripper, unusual shot actually cause Toes isn’t up to no good oar we can’t see what he is up to
My new heater pre Tripper and the bacon cooking exercise
The after bacon cooking shot, note the black shit  I cleaned it off Tripper 😆

February 26, 2012 at 10:17 pm #217093I left the singles in the morning with memories of chasing TB on the mighty 530 and only staying anywhere near close in the tight singles , watching Moose punt Ol Burple along at a great pace , getting roosted by lefty on ever fire road
, seeing Crash and Chicken bar banging every chance they had , hearing the Hobbit laugh his head off when I tried to take on slippery trail pinned in 4 th gear and doing a complete 360 before landing in the bog
, watching Rob get better and better as the day went on and getting his back wheel under control and seeing DJ take on the pain of a boulder in the chest and still have a ball
.
Mick sorted us up with a tasty lunch and we freshened up in his pool before heading out to Mooses and hitting the awesome grass track he’d freshly cut in . I had never ridden grass track before and after a couple of laps on the 250 I wasn’t sure it was for me. Rob offered me a go on his DRZ to see how the suspension felt to me and I did a few laps and started to get used to riding a completely flat track. Next I rode TBs KTM 530 and now I was grinning , 5 laps on the 530 and I was puffing so I pulled in and hopped on DJs KTM 400. I have to say this was the best bike so far and I found myself getting quicker laps in and even managed to hang with Lefty , Spud and Crash ( just ) for 2 laps while they tried to run each other over
It wasn’t long before STM arrived and got ready for a ride in record time , I rode a few laps with him and I then rode his WR250 while he took out Conners YZ. We then swapped back and went out again , this time I took Spuds WRF 450 and had a ball until I got a bit over confident backing in to a corner and suddenly finding traction , the old girl tried to buck me of on the high side but I hung on and lucked my way out of a buster !!!!!
With the grass track now a big highlight for me we left Mooses and headed back to Micks shed for another swim and a few breath fresheners
The food Mick organized was spot on and the beers flowed and piss taking started. We watched all the footage Crash and I had recorded that day and checked out Micks proffesional pics. The last video shown was filmed by me following TB , getting taken by chicken then pushing to my limit , then beyond , I hit and erosion mound and landed on an off camber wet rut. The only option was to head butt the ground and roll around like an idiot
TB enjoyed it that much he played just the crash at least 10 times to everyone’s joyMore later ….

Lens I’ll go with 18-55mm VR. Shutter speed 1/1600 or 0.000625 second. Would you like me to add aperture and ISO?
February 26, 2012 at 11:26 pm #216968What an awesome weekend spent with a great bunch of blokes. We headed off on Friday just after lunch fully loaded up with bikes and beer – what else were we going to need? The laughs and ribbing started before we’d made it out of the Clarence Valley and didn’t stop for the whole weekend. :woohoo:
Thanks Mick and family for your hospitality and for putting up with us all.
TB and Mick a huge thanks to you blokes for inviting me along. I had a ball.
Thanks Moose for running us thru some of the sweetest singles and steep rutted hills we’ve faced in a while!
The grass track racing made us all feel like kids again and was heaps of fun.
The more old bulls I meet the more I wonder how I ever survived not being a part of this scene for so long.
Nick and Spud I can’t wait for our next road trip and to look in the rearvision mirror of the Hilux and see the hobbit squashed up in the back again- priceless.
Everyone else – it was great to meet you all. Thanks for your company and the laughs. I’m looking forward to our next hit out.

Some more random shots
Saturday morning BBQ Crash on eggs, myself on Bacon
More pool action, Jackson on the ladder asking if his arse looked big, Deejay going full retard, he knows from watching tropic thunder you never go full retard. Rob doesn’t know what to say and the Hobbit doesn’t know where to look and is shielding his eyes
Sundays breakfast saw Hobbit on bacon and 400Rob on eggs. For the record Robs eggs were better than Crash’s eggs looked as through Crash had cooked them during one of his crashes :pinch:
